It's been a while since I re-installed but I can't recall ever being required to enter one.

Undecided

Hate to say it, Ric, but I think you would have remembered if you had used a reg no first time around - which you wouldn't have.

Are you sure you're not using warez......??

You may not be, OK, but just in case anyone else is reading who is, it's been a long standing policy on this forum to have nothing to do with illegal software, illegal copying, piracy etc etc etc

I have reinstalled FS2002 a few times, and you do not need the reg. number

You are not using Flight Simulator in that case. First of all, Flight Simulator only uses a code, but only when you need assistance and have to contact MS. Another thing is that i think you might be using a ripped program because well, if you had it right then you wouldn't be here.

PS: Funny, we are currently in a case of piracy. What irony

I own a legit copy of FS2002 pro, i still even have my box and everything that came in it. What I meant is that I don't remember needing a registration number during installation, but that was a LONG time ago since i installed it

Hmm I recently had to re-install the whole system, and no code required!
Mind you I can sort of use FSEdit, it isn't that bad, well maybe it is.....

I have seen similar messages on European sites.  Apparently MS (Europe) has a rebate offer that requires some sort of registration code.  US versions would not be affected.  The people requesting these codes have hacked versions of FS and therefore do not have  the required codes.  You are wasting your time trying to "help" these people discover these codes.

There is a 9 digit product code and you only need it to ask for help from microsoft, and it is displayed when you install it.It can also be seen in the "about" section of the help drop-down, there is no "CD key" to enter on any of the FS sims.

I can't believe no one has helped this poor guy yet!

Hey Rik, the Registration code is usually 14 characters, separated by dashes in certain places.  Its kind of like . . . . aww well its hard to explain.  Here, why don't you just try plugging in my registration code:

S0F-TWAR3-P1RA-T3

Happy flying!

the only thing i can think of in this persons defense is he hasnt tried installing it again yet because he thinks he needs to cd key to do it. since that how most games are these days. but if that isnt the case then i wouldnt waste your time asking  here
