I think they stopped allowing downloads of the B1B from the website and FS PLANET sucks. They stole it and I can't get it from there! I guess I gotta wait now until this weekend when they release the upgraded version that works with the MICROSOFT Sidewinder joystick.

It's been uploaded to flightsim.com - I'd imagine you can still get it from there?

If its FFB, turn off the Force Feedback option.

I just got it from AVsim.com and installed it! Unfortunately my initial take off was a failure
! She ran down the runway full throttle taking forever to reach 125 knots. Then The tail rudder started wobbling all over the place
! Then she went straight under the ground and crashed!
. Which is the problem I think everyone with the Forcefeedback Pro 2 controller is experiencing
What happened ???! I think I am going to wait on the upgraded version before I try that again! But it is a beautiful plane! 8)
Uh blade if the FS98 B1b sound file is the real deal, I think I want to go with the original airliner sound file! It makes more noise!
! Also why is it when I pick up speed my screen starts to dim then when I slow down it brightens back up. I don't see any afterburner effects either! What gives

By their own admission, I3D aren't experts in the field of flight dynamics. They've produced a fantastic plane visuall, but until they get the update sorted, there are going to be a few problems.
In the meantime, you could always do a search for stb1b002.zip (a version from a few months ago by Shigeru Tanaka) and take the airfile and aircraft.cfg from that and drop it in to the new aircraft folder.
I've yet to do it myself and it may or may not need a little adjustment to get it right - I suspect not, but I think it would certainly serve as a short term solution.

8) Hi again guys,
I don't know if the "G" force effects was active. I am going to check that out. Maybe when I installed the aircraft, the program activated the G force effects. I normally have that feature turned off.
Changing the airfile and the cfg with that older B1b! nah I don't think I want to do that! i can hold out for the upgrade. I just got my f16 repaired and I am having a ball flying my American Airline 737 with the Cockpit announcement keys.
I can wait !
The plane visually is a beauty! This is the B1b I have been waiting for the longest! At last it has arrived! Man I don't what I would do with out you guys! This forum is very useful!

Thanks for the 411 Whitey!
The double take is well worth it!
Time to suit up and give the B1b take off attempt take #2! Let's see if we get off the ground in one peice this time!
. The first attempt wasn't too hot

Ah, sorry about the double post...AOL doesn't work too well in conjunction with these forums...
If you haven't got s FFB joystick (they're the dearer versions of the Siewwinders which shake about and stuff), you also have to use your Center1 fuel tank as a weight ballast. Use 50% in your Center1 tank than in your Center2 tank. Try it out at 50% in all the tanks except the Center1 tank. Put 75% in the Center1 tank.
That helps to keep a nose down attitude. This is the way in which the crews fuel the real B-1Bs.
BTW, what's a 411?

Not too impressed with this plane
Take #2 on the take off was A-OK she got off the ground, but she was still way too slow for take off air speed. The attempt was at Mc.Guire AFB with the extended length runway. With full thrust the B1b reached only 135 knots by the time it reached the end of the runway and didn't get off the ground until about 200 knots in the feild beyond the runway!
! Then I noticed 2 issues!
1. The engine thrust guage showed that at full thrust, only engine # 4 was receiving full power, Engine 1 and 3 were getting 3/4 of power and Engine #2 was getting a little under 3/4 of power.
. Something is wrong with the engines receiving full power.
2. The Rear landing gears weren't retracting on gears up command
! This contributed to the drag after take off. Only the front landing gear was responding to the gear up and down commands ???! What is going on here.
Is anyoneelse getting this same issue

Hey Mav,
Real sorry to hear you have been experiencing problems.
Where di you manage to download the original files from in the end?
I am very interested in your gear difficulties as I'm using the downloadable version with the force feedback fix and all is functioning as it should be.

I dowloaded the first part of the plane without the fix at AVSIM.com.
Then I got the upgrade feedback patch at the home website for the b1b.

I picked the aircraft up at I3Ds site the day it was released. My undercarriage is fine, but not having an FFstick, I haven't used the patch.
