OK OK,, relevant information:

If XP and  FS are happily coexisting,, quit while you're ahead and don't tweak anything.

If it's working okay, don't do anything.  That's a great philosophy.  I don't think we landed a man on the moon using that rationale.

By that philosophy, I'd never be able to improve framerates or adjust my graphics card to get better image quality.  'Happily coexisting' doesn't necessarily mean that I'm satisfied with the result, especially if simple tweaks can improve matters.  I boosted my old Win98 machine greatly with just a few simple tweaks shown to me by the guy at www.omegacorner.com. ; This is the kind of thing I'm looking for.  It's not rocket science, nor is it going to screw up my machine.

I got WinXp Pro recently, I love it, it starts so much faster than my old Win98SE, and another advantage is that it never freezes!  It runs very smoothly on my system, 576Mb Ram, P3, 766MHz, and I like it much better than any other OS, it has a lot more cool features with it, it even comes with it's own winzip which is convenient.  My flight sim hasn't really changed since I changed OS.  I don't really know what the difference between WinXP Pro and Home, but the Pro Edit. is, I reckon the best.  If you have a good computer WinXP is fine, there's nothing wrong with it, you just need a bit of memory for it and a good processor, that's all.

If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.
