On the 20th May 1927 at 11:52 Charles Lindburgh after a sleepless night, sets off on an attempt to become the first pilot to fly accross the Atlantic ocean non-stop.....

The beautiful Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis
...

...

22:00 GMT, approx. 300ft/92mph leaving Newfoundland for the open expanse of the Atlantic.
...

Somewhere over the Atlantic, making a correction in navigation.
...

Somewhere over the Atlantic, flying into bad weather.
...

15:00 GMT, approx. 500ft/95mph approaching the coast of Ireland.
...

19:00 GMT, approx.  Roof level/110mph heading over Cherbourg and on to the last piece of water on the journey, the English Channel.
...

20:22 GMT. Finaly the exhausted but Exhilarated Lindbergh touches down at Le Bourget, Paris after a flight of 30 hours and 30 minutes to claim the prize of $25.000 and the title of "First Pilot to cross the Atlantic non-stop"!!
...

The rest, as they say, is history......

Many thanks to LAGO for another fine package. The aircraft, scenery and information included is first class.

Enjoy.

Andrew, do you believe that I would take these pics without flying the entire journey? Shame on you I am deeply hurt  Wink I relish the idea of staring at my monitor for 30+ hours due to the fact there was no AutoPilot installed back in the Golden Years when Lindburgh made his flight, no consideration for us simmers huh, lol Grin

Yes I am still interested in your "Guess the numbers" do you still have my email?

Ok, I think I still have your e-mail.  Do you want the 'Guess the Number 1.0' version, or do you want 'Guess the Number XP - High Security Version'?

My operating system is XP Andrew, so I guess the XP version is the on to have. I must admit to not knowing what this programme does though  Roll Eyes

Cheers for the comments folks.

lol, theres quite a story to those programs...

About 5 or so months after I started learning C++, I could do basic things. At the end of a chapter in my C++ book, there was a little exercise to design a guessing game. I developed one, and had a friend who was a software developer to take a look at it. We then mostly rewrote it and posted it on www.bebits.com as a BeOS application.A day or two later, Marco Nelissen, one of the developers of the BeOS operating system wrote a program called 'Don't Guess'. What it did was look at my program and would do the guessing for you, and it was right every time!

Soon there were about 3 other guessing games besides mine. Marco Nelissen even updated his program to do the guessing on theirs also

Me and my friend then rewrote my gessing game so it could not be 'spied' on by other programs anymore and called it 'Guess the Number XP - High Security Version' because it was about a month after Windows XP had been released Grin

Both look excactly the same, except with the high security edition, you can now game with confidence Grin Wink

What the program does is 'think' of a random number and you try to guess it. It will tell you if you're too low, too high, or if you're right.

Both versions work in WindowsXP just fine.
