This is a really dumb question, but what exactly causes FS to freeze?
I ask as I have just attempted my first transatlantic flight in real time, going from JFK to london city in a Gulfstream IV and the B****** froze 12 miles from touchdown Angry
P.S. is now my 1st SimV birthday  Grin

Unfortunately, that's a bit like asking "Why doesn't my car start?".

Could be any number of factors involved from a RAM leak due to a gauge on your panel, down to your P.C. cooling being inadequate.

So many possible answers it's very difficult to say I'm afraid.

Hey Craig:

What do you mean by "freezing?" Did your whole system lock up on you or just the game? What system are you running? Did it freeze on you while the swapfile was being accessed?

The visuals stop but the sound continues for about a minute then a message comes up askking if I want to send a report to Microsoft, if I say yes my turns itself off, if I say no nothing happens and I have to turn the computer off and restart.

yeah fs2002 is pretty unstable for me, I have problems now that I didnt have before when i previously installed it, such as the controls locking up for a few seconds, sometimes many times in a short time, sometimes not at all. Then the blue screen of death which makes the occassional appearance, and I very often, get the screen asking if I want to send the error report to microsoft, which happens a lot when I goto "instant replay" pretty lame, I suppose all you can do is save often so its not wasted.
