I have been playing the CFS series for some time now and have been a great admirer of CFS2.But recently i upgraded to windows XP from 98.It mentions on the box lid of CFS2 that it works only on 98 and ME.NOT XP.I install the game and play straight away after. The next day i come back to play and on the main screen a message pops up saying "cannot locate cache. Please exit the game"...It simply will not let me play again. Is there a patch that allows it to work on XP???
I need to play on CFS2 badly since our squad is relocating there.Help me out mates.

Hi Goose. The reason XP is not mentioned on the package is that CFS2 was released before it was available. I don't have XP myself but know many people using CFS1, FS2000 & CFS2 on it with no problems at all. I hope someone can suggest why you're having this trouble.

I have installed CFS2 on a new computer with XP and have not had your error message.
CFS2 can use a cache for scenery folders kept on CD. Check scenery library, select a scenery area and click Edit area. At bottom of dialog screen is the choice:
Cache the scenery
Use this scenery directly
Select Use this scenery directly - check each scenery folder to make sure you haven't selected Cache.
In Combat Flight Simulator folder there should be a sub-folder called Cache. If it is not there then create it. This is where scenery cache is stored.
