I have been trying to chase down AI aircraft in the f-16 and I am having a problem with the radar telling me the exact altitude that the AI aircraft is flying at.
On the radar where it is suppose to tell me the AI Aircrafts altitude it says "FL119" then says"VS +00002" can someone translate this for me. I am confused and have no clue what this means ???

Okay FL119 means flight level 119 which is 11,900 feet of altitude.

I believe it means that he's at 11,900 feet and his vertical speed is plus 2 feet.

Thank you that clears things up! I was wondering
Dumb me! First time i saw it I thought it meant flight level 119,000 ft or 119 ft.
I flew at both altitudes and couldn' t find the AI aircraft and allways noticed that they flew around 12,000 - 14,000 ft and I still couldn't figure that out!
!
Thanks for your assistance guys, truly appreciated! 8) The hunt is on without flaw this time! Look out AI here I come

Reminds me - I've been working on a 'Glossary of Terms' for some time now....... got about 40 Terms down together with explanations - but for some reason my eyes just start to get sleepy every time I turn to that at the moment ... I'll get it done soon(ish)

There's no ways in hell the sim will let you break the 100 000 foot barrier, even in slew, I've been there, in my F-16, I was flying at around 100 knots at full thrust, it's quite differentto about 1500 feet. And Mav316 that means that the plane is climbing at 2 feet per minute, "VS +00002".
Cheers,
Greg

Wow you guys I never actually made it that high, I tried to get up there and said forget it because an AI aircraft couldn't possibly be flying that high! I thought the term FL119 meant that the AI aircraft was flying at 119,000 ft or at 119 feet!
!
Man I hope you guys don't represent me in court! I will be doing hard time for mis communication! I thank Ozzy and Andrew for clarifying for me that it meant the AI aircraft was flying at 11,900 ft! 8)

However there is one aircraft from FS2000 I think can actually go higher then 119,000 ft. Has anyone every flown the Independence Day Alien space craft! That aircraft climbs real fast and dives real fast!
! I don't know if it would work in FS2002. But since everyone is in a challenge the ceiling competion. Why don't yall give it a try! 8)
