If anyone knows how I am with aircraft, they know I'm the ultimate stickler with aircraft.  When I saw those shots, I actually said wow. Shocked Shocked This has the opportunity to become the best freeware add-on on the net judging by these shots!  And it's free, free, free! Grin I think I'm gonna faint! Embarrassed In fact, I don't care about the poly count, that thing is amazing!  I just hope it has a VC!  Who designed this?  They seriously deserve one huge pat on the back! Cheesy

Sweetness!  Even if it's as vague as a few days or a few months, what's the predicted release date?  I'm so eager to get this! Grin  I'll download it even if it's high, but any word on the poly count? Cheesy Hope it's not astronomical. Embarrassed

Yes it is, I'm not sure but I think it includes folding wings.

Yes all Naval aircraft have to have folding wings. You can see the hinge lines on a top shot of the Hornet. The F-14 is nice because the wings have an "oversweep" setting allowing for some tight parking on the limited deck space on aircraft carriers.

It's nice to have an actual Hornet driver test the plane within FS2k/2k2 limited simulation parameters.

I'm quite sure only the Super Hornet has folding wings.

Hello guys,

I'm glad you like my F18 model, even from these screenshots only.

I thought that it will be finished last year, but there were also another important things, e.g. like this:
...

You know, these delays are sometimes a destiny of freeware projects  ... Smiley

But now I would like to attend to this project again and finally finish it.
It's hard to say any exact date, but because the major part of this project is completed, I can say it could be rather weeks than months ...

In the meantime you can enjoy several latest screenshots:
- 2D panel ( thanks to Aeyes from http://www.cockpits.nl for his background image, Eric Marciano for his HUD and radar http://emarciano.free.fr and to thanks to Paul Schwerdtfeger for his MFD gauges )
- 3D cockpit ( there were added some new details )

Screenshots of the external model ( "walkaround" ) were created using Active camera ( http://www.anticyclone.be )

... ... ... ...

... ... ... ...

More and larger screenshots are here: http://airspace.uhk.cz/mlk/msfs/f18/f18_1.htm

Regards

Now I hate to spoil the moment...but I want it NOW! Grin Grin

I'm feeling even more excited about this than I am about the B-1B!!! Cheesy  Excellent work!

Can I ask one thing, though...does the Hornet have folding wings or am I right in thinking only the Super Hornet has folding wings? ???

Hoping to be flying that bute soon... 8)
