Woohoo, took me a bit to find this post
Yeah, memories, although not as old as the site.
It was late '99 when I bought myself FS2000 for this new computer, my first actually, a PIII 450.
I was caught by the CD's advertisement that one could download literally thousands of planes off the internet.
Made my way to the MSFS site as provided on the box and found this link site there.
Of the many sites, I found Simviation the easiest to use and browse. it had loads of tutorials to get a beginner like me going.
Got myself CFS short after and learned apprechiating the most extensive CFS download area of this site, and again, the excellent tutos of a certain Doug Atrell.
Pete and Doug, time to give you both guys a big thumbs up and a warmest thank you.

I had that site booked marked! As a matter of fact, I remember downloading that Northwest 747 and it being the first "heavy" that I managed to put on the runway in one piece.

I now need a Time Machine to teleport me back again....

I hadn't even regained my interest in aviation at that point!
I found SimV quite a few years later when I was in year 10 (IIRC) at High School. It was a bit naughty in fact as I was meant to be doing work at the time

it still amazes me where we've been, who we've met, and what we've gotten ourselves into (and can't get out of
)
I came in just after the ultraboard closing, around early 2002, and haven't skipped a beat since.
you guys we're an inspiration to me while growing up
heck this thread is 5 years old last month... brings back times of "This or That" or what was that other one...
