I don't know of any real F4U-4's but there is a F4U-5N in Korean War colors out there somewhere. The site that had it is gone, but I will try and find it for you.

The original post didn't say which sim this is for. Alain L'Homme's FS98 F4U-5NLR was the most popular WWII aircraft on the Web for a long time. http://www.simviation.com/fsdvintage%5B23%5D.htm
Although not fully animated it has many advanced features including rolling wheels & was well ahead of its time.
Alain updated it for CFS1 & there have been countless repaints over the years. Check out the CFS1 section sometime.

I didn't suggest it as I'm not sure it's compatible with the later MS sims, especially FS2002.

I was talking about a new F4U-5N that was released for CFS2 about 2 months ago. Unfortunatly Gramps site is gone, but I have tried to contact him to find out if he knows were it might be located.

Forgot to mention it has a complete set of custom weapons, including the big 11.75 in "Tiny Tim" rockets, napalm canisters, and 100lb ap bombs, for those night interdiction missions.

All of these that I have seen , both for fs2000, cfs2 or fs2k2 are F4U-1a-c w/o out a 4 bladed prop or chin  scoop. I have been able to find aircraft listed as a -4  or -5n but these merely were repaints or older versions not suiting the quality of the last 2 MS sims.

The -5N I've been talking about was built from the start as a -5N complete with radome, four bladed propellor and chin scoop.

Also has an opening canopy, working tailhook, folding wings. It was built with FSDSpro, Gramps was trying to redo it with GMax when his computer failed. He's trying to get it uploaded to http://www.sim-outhouse.com but it hasn't shown up there yet.

Thanks, I haven't seen that one. I am looking for an F4U-4 specifically because my dad flew them in WWII
in VMF-224 and my friends here have a flying -4c which they fly in airshows. The Korean War Hero URL in my original post is their plane, www.koreanwarhero.com
I am not the least bit proficient in gmax  but am in photoshop and wanted to make an accurate sim version of both planes. If anyone is interested in attempting this i can get all of the drawings and plans necessary for modelling and would attempt to do the textures to make them accurate. Thanks

The guy that built the -5N was planning on building the entire Corsair line, I know that he lost a F4U-5 when his computer died. Hopefully he will continue his work when he gets his computer problems fixed. I also will be needing a F4U-4 for the second Korean War campaign I'm planning to do after finishing up USAF Korea.

I realise this doesn't fit the bill but hope you don't mind me posting it for old-times sake.
Alain L'Homme's F4U-5NL was always one of my favourites & I think it still looks pretty good for a 3 year old design.
...
Funny how times change. Back in 1999, all the CFS1 guys complained about the 4-bladed prop.  Roll Eyes
It works but doesn't look so quite good in CFS2 or 2K2.

Glad you agree. Here she is in CFS2.

Some of the cowling parts don't display too well. Maybe it's my graphics card.
