Cheers Gents,

I got to thinking about these many ghost shows in america and how stupid they
are. Roll Eyes  Why is it that 99.9% of the ghost sightings are of someone in 1800's
type clothes.

You never hear storys were the ghost had bell bottom jeans and a tee shirt on.
or a biker jacket or someone in military battle gear.

Why is it always 1800's era ghosts? Because it's BULL! I wish these people making
these shows would be alittle more original!

Don't get me wrong, I've had some really messed up stuff happen to me since I
was a kid, so I beleve in ghosts, without a doubt. I have to say that none of my
many experiences involve seeing a ghost or apparition.  Thank Goodness! Undecided

I'm just about finished with my story of the scariest event that ever happend to me.
I will post it up here soon.

If you would, tell us about your supernatural events from your past. I for one would
love to read it.

Dwayne.... I'm not afraid of no ghost .... Cool ... Undecided

A dozen miles outside of Baltimore, the main road from New York (Route Number One) is crossed by another important highway. It is a dangerous intersection, and there is talk of building and underpass for the east-west road. To date, however, the plans exist only on paper.

Dr. Eckersall was driving home from a country-club dance late one Saturday night. He slowed up for the intersection, and was surprised to see a lovely young girl, dressed in the sheerest of evening gowns, beckoning him for a lift. He jammed on his brakes, and motioned her to climb into the back seat of his roadster. "All cluttered up with golf clubs and bags up here in front," he explained. "But what on earth is a youngster like you doing out here all alone at this time of night?"

"It's too long a story to tell you now," said the girl. Her voice was sweet and somewhat shrill — like the tinkling of sleigh bells. "Please, please take me home. I'll explain everything there. The address is ___ North Charles Street. I do hope it's not too far out of your way."

The doctor grunted, and set the car in motion. He drove rapidly to the address she had given him, and as he pulled up before the shuttered house, he said, "Here we are." Then he turned around. The back seat was empty!

"What the devil?" the doctor muttered to himself. The girl couldn't possibly have fallen from the car. Nor could she simply have vanished. He rang insistently on the house bell, confused as he had never been in his life before. At long last the door opened. A gray-haired, very tired-looking man peered out at him.

"I can't tell you what an amazing thing has happened," began the doctor. "A young girl gave me this address a while back. I drove her here and . . ."

"Yes, yes, I know," said the man wearily. "This has happened several other Saturday evenings in the past month. That young girl, sir, was my daughter. She was killed in an automobile accident at that intersection where you saw her almost two years ago . . ."

In 1977 I lived in an apartment building with my 'then' partner and later to be.. Wife. Her daughter, aged 16 at the time was staying at another address with her brothers and sisters in law. One evening, rather late, we were watching the local news on TV and about ready to turn in for the night. Just after I turned the tele off and headed for bed someone.. OR something.. knocked on the door, three times. As I was already near the door, the only door to the place, I opened it. No one there. My door opened to a stairwell that no one could hide in with out being seen.
I went off to bed and shortly there were three loud and distinctive knocks again. I jumped up and opened the door.. again nothing to be seen. It happened once more that night, so I sat on the couch and lit a cigarette pondering, when suddenly the telephone rang. It was the hospital calling to tell us we needed to come there right away. Her daughter, my stepdaughter, had been killed in a car accident. About thetime we heard the first knock.

True story. I have no reason to make this up.

Steve,

yeah that's weird when that kind of thing happens. I'm sorry that happend to
your step daughter.

I've had sort of the same thing happen to me but it's always in dream form.

I swear I would not tell this if it were not true because it involves 9/11. on the
morning of 9/11 before I had any idea what was unfolding in new york city, I
had a dream I was walking in a city and there was a crying woman that looked
like she had scrapes and scuffs on her and she had black dirt on her face and she
was either on her knees on the sidewalk or she was buried up to her knees in
the sidewalk (I'm not sure) and the sidewalk was broken where her knees
touched. I remember asking her what happen to her and she either said she
jumped or fell (I can't remember which) from the building. I looked up and it
was a tall square sky scraper.

Then I got up, got a cup of coffee, turned my computer on and saw what was
unfolding in new york city on A.O.L's front page.

I didn't even put two & two together for days if I remember right. I'm pretty
sure that's because I was in shock like the rest of america and the world for
that matter.

That's crazy, I don't know why I have these types of dreams, It's always either
right as something happens or after something happens. Crazy!

I do not have ghost stories but have one of a UFO, hands down that was the most shocking thing I have ever seen.

Another reason I brought this topic up here on SimV is because I have looked
up a bunch of ghost sites on the internet and found that they're just like those
stupid T.V. shows (Crap!) You read the storys and it's like 'Oh Brother'. Like the
phrase "I saw glowing red eyes" Give me a freekin brake... Please! Roll Eyes

I can beleve the storys here.

I can't say for real that ghosts, as such, are seen, although I accept that there can be apparitions. Even if so, what proof is there that a spirit claiming to be Uncle Herman was actually Uncle Herman, rather than some other non-corporeal sort(s) more familiar with his life than he was?
I clicked into one of these ghost searcher shows; they were in eastern Europe trying to get a response from a ghost of someone who lived many centuries ago. Mind you, they were petitioning in Modern English to the supposed ghost of someone who would probably have only spoken an old Slavic dialect, let alone the English (Anglo-Saxon) of the era.

As to stories, I lost many of my own which is rather haunting...

Yeah, thats funny. "Ghost Hunters" is good for that, trying to talk to ghosts
in a place like russia, and there speaking english. How stupid do they think
we are?

Another thing I thought of way back, when those ghost shows started was,
why would a ghost show up on that infrared camera as 'RED'?. Red is heat.

It took them a while to change it and start making the ghosts show up as
'BLUE' cold.

I'll tell ya what I think is a good sign that a show is fake,.. A lack of fear when
they encounter a ghost or ghost activity. I don't care who ya are, if you
see or hear or get touched buy a real ghost, Yeah! Been there.. done some of
that. It scares the CRAP out of ya when it happens.

Well Blaze,

When I was just a sophomore in high school my dad was rather obsessed with star gazing. So late one night in the winter he dragged me out to look at the moons of jupiter through his telescope. As I am looking, he starts stammering and hitting my arm so I pull away from the scope and look up...what we saw were ~8 orange globes spaced evenly apart in a curve. The curve spanned well over 100yds and blocked out stars. It silently flew over then my dad and I frantically ran inside and called his friends at the Muskegon County Airport tower...Turns out at the same time someone FROM ACROSS THE COUNTY saw it too and they had radar conformation of a large object moving over Muskegon.

Then there is my grandpa in-law who used to be a sheriff in Zeeland/Holland. He is really traditional so I was shocked to hear this from him but, he CHASED a UFO down with a deputy. One night they got calls of an unusual object over Zeeland, so him and a deputy on the other side of town got visual and started to follow it. They did so for ~15min before it suddenly took off at an extremely high rate of speed. He said it was a giant glowing sphere with a color pattern he could not explain.

Hi Webb,

Yeah.. If they ever told me something like that in this house, I would
grab my glock, chamber a .40 cal. Hydroshock and do some hunting. Wink

Come out.. Come out.. where ever you are! Angry

Wahubna,

That's good stuff. I only ever had one thing happen as far as U.F.O. activity.
I don't know what it was but back in 1983'ish I was about to enter my brothers
apartment and happend to see (I think it was three, maybe four) brite pinpoint
lights shoot across the sky. they were evenly spaced and very fast.

It almost looked like what a meteor looks like when they shoot past, but there
was at least three perfectly spaced. and they weren't as fast as that.

That's the only thing (that I can remember anyway) that I ever seen in U.F.O.'s

Heck, what I saw could have been anything. I wish I could have gotten a better
or longer look at them.

UFO sightings are over-rated  Grin

Too many people think you are a flippin' nut for one and two....nothing is more frightening than something that completely boggles all explanation.

But on a lighter note, if you want to know da Yooper side of UFOs....watch Escanaba in Da Moonlight!

Here is a clip right after the dad and 'Ruben' see a sighting from their 'two holer' out house.
