MS Config Cleanup

While freshly installed computers are generally free from bloatware and boot-clogging software, pre-installed notebooks are notoriously clogged with all manner of junk that loads at startup. To find out what's in your PC, go Start > type "msconfig" in the search box by the Start button and hit enter > under the 'Startup' tab you'll find a complete list of the 'Startup Items', who 'Manufactured' the program and what the 'Command' instruction is.

It takes a little bit of investigative work to determine what's what, I find expanding the Command line gives the best insight into what programs are launching. For example, you may see several entries for Adobe PDF, PowerDVD or even web cameras which really don't need to be loaed unless you open these applications. Uncheck what you don't need to load at start up and reboot the PC. To clean out the MSCONFIG list you need to use Msconfig Cleaner which can permenantly remove any unchecked item.

Depending on how much is cleaned out, you could see a healthy improvement to start up times!

I use other programs to clean up my win start, CCleaner or Advanced System Care, then you can have a normal start up in windows config.
Many of those programs will still run after you load your flight sims, and thats not optional

Game booster does a very good job.

Try and open msconfig in start/run type msconfig/ok. Click the start button and you'll se. I got 2 running at startup, MS Security and Intel turbo boost. All others i've closed using ccleaner, cause i dont need 'em before i ask for 'em.

It can be different at your place and only you knows what you always need when on the pc.

I dont see any i would have at start up, but i'm always curious on "WINDOWS"!

LEAVE your AV program on start!!

You must know, that a lot of installed programs put themself into win startup. Why, i dont know, but adverticing comes into mind. You dont need them there, they will start when you're asking.

The more you got running, the more slower your pc will be, and i can see a lot in your msconfig you could do without.

You can always activate back if something goes wrong.

Use ccleaner to stop any start up programs you want, dont do it in msconfig, then you will get a normal start in windows configuration.

Thats ok Steve.
Just to make things clear.
Running processes you can see by typing
services.msc in run, but i would recommend you dont touch anything there, before you're absolutely sure what you're doing!
The startup process is another matter.
