I recently added a new airport to FSX (Los Roques by Jaime Ortega - thanks Jaime). This tiny island airport isn't in the FSX database, although the nearby VOR is. Can such "non-standard" airports be added to the FSX airports database? If so, how ? The airport was originally designed for FS9, but seems to work perfectly in FSX.

As it doesn't have the traditional FS2004 'Afcad' file, the easiest way is to use the ADE9X program to create the new airport.

To get it into the FSX airport database you only need to create the airport reference point (airport properties). If you you want  runway and parking start locations you can also add the runway, taxiways and parking.

Note that ADE9X requires that you have the FSX SDK installed. The SDK only comes with FSX Deluxe or Gold. It's not available with FSX Standard.

Get  the latest version of ADE9X here:  http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

You know....you can just rip up a to-do list.
