Need to replace an OLD!!!! MS joystick. Looking at either a Logitec 3D PRO or maybe going with a Saitek flight yoke system. Which would be better?  Will be using it for both FSX GOLD and CFS 2 AND 3. Cant get both right now. Undecided

Hard to say without knowing what you fly most. You fly airliners and more modern GA? Go for the Saitek. Fly a lot of old warplanes or jetfighters? Go for the Logitech (although I would buy the Saitek X-52).

Comp. specs.: I7 2600@3.40Ghz Sandy Bridge 32nm technology; 12Gb RAM DDR3 @ 661Mhz; Foxconn H67M-S MoBo; 1023Mb Geforce GTX550Ti; 300Gb Western Digital + 1Tb Samsung HDD's; 22 inch Acer X223W screen; Saitek Pro Flight yoke + Saitek X-52 Hotas.

"Old" joysticks... Wink...!

Mine was the lovely "old" Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feed-back Pro, Joystick (£99), in the late 1990's, until its internal Printed Circuit gave up the ghost, much to my dismay... Cry...!

Had a few in between, but my current one is the very nice Saitek Cyborg Evo Force, Joystick (£35)*, which suits all my normal; "winged" aircraft.

"Ground Beaters" (Helicopters) may require something slightly different... (just before death strikes!).

Paul....FS 2004....and "normal" aircraft!... Grin...!

I've spent many enjoyable hours at my local Airfield, sat down, watching trainee Helicopter Pilots desperately trying to control the deadly ground-beaters, in futile attempts to depart from Mother Earth....successfully...and live...

Sometimes I have to leave the suicidal scene hurriedly, before the fire engine and ambulance arrive to collect the various pieces...

...probably... Wink...

Paul... Grin... Grin...!

Flying Sim Helicopters will shorten your Sim life...trust me!... Wink...!

I rather suspect that if my old MS Sidewinder hadn't died on me, I would still be using it now....
...but remember, it uses the old, 15-pin, "Game-Port Connector", coupled to a Sound Card. Most later Joysticks now use a USB connector, no longer requiring a Sound Card for operation.
Just make sure your "old" PC has USB connectors for the more modern Joysticks!

Paul... Cool...!

Mine is late 90s early 2k Sidewinder Precision Pro2 with usb plug in. Doesnt have force feedback though. If it works will stick with it until i can get Saitek yoke system. Have new Cyberpower system in the works. Hope to get it next week. Thanks.

I was really into Flying Heli's there for a while,, but then eventually went out and got the Saitek Flight Yoke system, with Saitek Combat Aluminum Rudder peddles, and I've had all kinds of joysticks in the past,, I ended up opting for a medi-core easy to use Saitek AV8R-01 Joystick,, and I really like it, got it brand new on EBay, for like 19.99 a few years ago, tho its setting on a shelf right now, because my Saitek Flight Yoke is hooked up.

My SAITEK Flight Yoke & Combat Rudder Peddles peddles are made out of sturdy Aluminum !

Everything works great too, great set up - no complaints.

I also had a Saitek AV8R-01 for 6 years. It's cheap, durable, and programmable for different setups.
