Every now and again I do something really silly... Embarrassed....

...like install ESET NOD32 trial anti-virus software..

..and then when suffering the continuous reminders to purchase the program on boot-up, after the trial period expires, and there are no means provided to un-install the program when it becomes extremely annoying!
...(remember Norton!)... Angry...!

I have googled the 'Net, and tried out all sorts of methods to get rid of it, including delving into the Windows Registry in Safe Mode and deleting the relevant entries...no luck!
It firmly prevents deleting the ESET NOD 32 Folder and its contents!
I can remember with "Norton", finally having to take my computer out into the back garden, dousing it with petrol and setting it alight to get rid of Norton!*

I now curse all the NOD32 enthusiasts who advised me to install it...(as they sit there grinning to themselves!).... Angry...!

Paul...Suffering NOD32, as well as a runny nose!... Cry...!

P.S ....*Beware: The only way I could finally get rid of "Norton" was to format my Hard Drive and lose all it contents!

Paul,

I had NOD32 for several years and I had no problem deleting it (registry and all).

Have you tried this?:

Been there, done that before...with no luck... Angry...!
The internet is swamped with folks unable to remove this highly annoying program from their hard drives.
I suspect that, like Norton, the program is specifically designed to make it difficult, or impossible to get rid of, once installed, with no un-installer included!

Even in a simple mode, it cannot be un-installed via Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.

Its one of those annoying programs which completely takes over your computer!
Unless you are prepared to pay good money for the program and its upgrades, my advice would be to avoid it.

Paul....Humph... Angry...!

No problems with AVG... Wink...!

Paul, try this.

go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9775982

Copy the link above and paste into your browser. Download and run it. See if this will uninstall NOD32.

I've had NOD32 some years ago. Blocked me from flying online. Whatever I tried, it kept blocking me. Removed it, can't remember if that was difficult or not. Stuck to free AVG ever since.

Carlo.

Many thank, Carlo!

Wonderful program!
I ran the un-install program option. It spotted ESET NOD32, listed it, and spent a long time trying to get rid of it all.
Partly successful, but couldn't delete the Program Folder and its contents.
I tried deleting the Folder contents manually. Success, all but three files which refused to be deleted, which insisted on advertising the program on my Start-up screen.
I dragged the Folder with its remaining three files onto my Desktop, which prevented that from happening....
But it is impossible to manually delete the Folder on my Desktop....something to do with "permissions", even though I have full Admin rights on my computer!

ESET NOD 32...a thoroughly annoying program!

Paul.... Cool...!

Hopefully, it will finally disappear with my next HDD Format!

Yep...done that, Chris...

Still certain files that would not delete, so I've drilled a hole in the HDD right where the ESET NOD 32 file is located, and dug it out with a screwdriver...
.....that should sort the bugger out*!

Paul... Smiley...!

*...probably... Wink...!
