I cant seem to figure why SOME of my ac do a short series of jumps or bucking when I CHANGE VIEWS.I run FS9.Doesnt matter if Im taxi'n or sitting at a gate with a dark cockpit. After a couple seconds of this activity, the ac calms down.It was mentioned that it was a contact point issue, but I'm not a designer.I fool with the cfg file alot, but dont know what I'm doing in the points contact section. The list describing what each contact point is,ie., #7 is steering angle,is clear to me,then there are some points that arent. What causes this.Better yet,how can I prevent this? And,to maybe help me along so I dont have to bother you folks with so many questions,is there a publication explaining the contact points and what each setting does in an in-depth manner? Thanx guys.Stephan Undecided

The jumping is probably due to the terrain loading slowly. This happens in FSX quite a lot, I don't know about FS9.Usually, the more complex the aircraft or scenery is the more it will happen..........

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Hi!

I haven't used Fs9 in a long time but I will try to think back to the good old days!

I think I had this problem but only with 1 or maybe 2 addon aircraft (never default) and I fixed it with contact points.  If I remember right there is normally 1 contact point for each main wheel and one for the nosewheel.  There may be others too I can't remember sorry.  Anyway one value is for the vertical height and I think this is the one which I used to change.  I think I always did this using someone's data from a post where they found a solution.

If you are looking for a fix for a specific ac or two and you haven't looked the old forums at Avsim and flightsim used to have tons of stuff about fixing issues with ac from those years back.

Hope it might help!

Many thanks!

Do a search for "Aircraft Container Manager", download and install it. Then read the part that covers contact points. You can cure any contact problem with only a few mouse clicks. It is great !
