Yep...It's me again.Loaded my first ship onto FS92 days ago.I'm not too bad at making my own panels or reconfiguring aircraft files basics.The key word here is BASICS.I made a panel that suits my needs and created a bmp in 3D for the gauges.Stuck the ship (Randall Shipyards/VLCC Tankship/Helandia) in Lake Erie and set heading for 80 degrees.Set rest of AP setting to navigate the set course.Nothing...Goes in a straight line.No change in settings change my course of travel.I tried tweeking some of the things in the AC cfg file and air file.Still nothing.How do I get the ship to auto pilot a heading/course I set.Thanx for any help.Stephan

Good Grief!

You would require a full set of radio instrumentation (Bendix-King?), and required gauges, etc, in the Panel Folder, and suitable entries in the aircraft.cfg file to enable it all!
I suspect it can be achieved, but you will need to program it yourself, including the panel design,  from scratch!
An interesting project, providing you can get it to control the Rudder!
You could dial up VOR and NDB radio beacons, but most of them will be located on land!

Thanx 'Fozzer'. If you re-read me entry,I worked the panel.I have added nav n comm gauges. I have re-vamped nearly every panel for every one of my 160+ aircraft n they ALL work beautifully.My Camsim Embraer Phenon 300 panel has over 150 gaus,obviously most redundant,and I run 2 monitors when flying so redundant gaus come in handy.She has 9 panel scenes.Love her...my fav. Now,my question is,where in the AC cfg and /or air file do I make additions,adjustments to get the Autopilot to work.Thanx again.PS...love our Brit allies! Smiley

Try this, for a start.....

[Radios]
// Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1       = 1
Com.1         = 1, 1
Com.2         = 1, 1
Nav.1         = 1, 1, 1
Nav.2         = 1, 1, 0
Adf.1         = 1
Transponder.1 = 1
Marker.1      = 1

From the Default Beech Baron 58 aircraft.cfg file...(lots of tips there?)

Sir Colonel Fozzer.I'm back to sing you praises ! The Nimitz AP works on the Nimitz,therefore,I will take the cfgs' apart and see what makes it tick and apply it to my panel design and elsewhere that changes need be made.I have flight simmed only 3 years,but it's my way to get away without leaving.Now,with your help and guidance on this matter,I have a new outlet for the housebound winter blues here in northern Ohio,by Lake Erie.Thanks so much sir. I once tried using the mini panel for the Howard 500 as a way to keep a sailing boat on autopilot.
After awhile it disconnected and the boat went off course.

Google "JELAIR - OTTO for ships". It works better than others for me. If you can't find it PM me and I'll give you the Web page location.
