I don't mind admitting that I remember it too. I was 19 in 1962.

'Love Me Do' wasn't a big hit & I didn't care for the Beatles at the time. I would later become one of  their biggest fans.

The sleeve in your image is actually the US version released on the Tollie label on April 27, 1964. http://thebeatles-collection.com/wordpress/author/zorkos/page/43/
Until then 'Love Me Do' was only available in the US as an import.

In the 60s most British single records were sold in a plain paper sleeve with a hole in the centre through which you could read the label. Only EPs & LPs had outer sleeves with images on them. This is the original Parlophone sleeve of Love Me Do. It's recently been re-issued as a special very limited edition.
