This one's for Doug...  Wink

C-FPEM , Otter #438, was delivered in 1963.  She has spent her life in the bush, working for companies in northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  For many years now it has flown for Athabasca Fishing Lodge, near Stony Rapids, Saskatchewan.

These shots were taken at the start of the summer, in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, where PEM is wintered and prepped for the summer fishing season.

Thanks for looking,

Great shots of a beautiful aircraft Cool Cool Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Wow...thanks Wade... Wink

I sure do miss flying the old Stoneboat...

Of all the heavies and bugsmashers I flew and owned the single radial engine DHC-3 "Otter" was my favourite.

I wonder if they will install a PT6A on her?

Again thanks for the pictures... Wink

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

I sure hope not Doug,  not too many of these are still flying.  I know the lodge owner a bit and I think he's pretty happy flying his guests around in the piston.

Hi Wade... Smiley

Why do they not use her on wheel/skis?

We converted our's from amphibious floats, floats to wheel/skis and they earned their keep all year... Wink

No they don't use it on skis during the winter.  It sits in the snow here at CYVC.
