Hey Gents Smiley
I need to know why my repaints are coming out alittle blurry? I would like them to come out like the original aircraft textures (Crisp). If I add a logo to my repaint, Forget about it, It's a freeking mess in the sim! This happens even when I cut it out of the alpha. I tryed DXT3 & HI REZ but there still not like the original paints. Thanks for any help on this issue.       Dwayne

I'm no expert, but my guess is that the original textures were made on a template much larger, then scaled down. If it's the same with all aircraft you repaint, then try saving in a different format before exporting it to a .dds

I apologize for the delay  Embarrassed

C130L,

You are correct, I do use larger pic's and then shrink them down before I cut and trim them out. Some of the pic's I use are not to big to start with but they come out very blurry anyway.

Ricardo,

Yes I saw your work (Beautiful!) That's how I wish mine would come out, 'Crisp and Clean'. Now your going to laugh! I've been using Microsoft MS paint. Ouch! that hurts to admit! Thats the program I use for cutting and croping 'all' logos for my repaints. As far as the large painting jobs, I use 'Photo-Impression' & 'MS-Paint'

I have MS Picture-It but I don't qite know how to use it yet. I'm learning though.

How do you guys get that nice cut between two colors? Mine looks like s**t! Its a mess where the two colors meet. Angry

Anything you can tell me on any tips and tricks you've learned in your work would be very appreciated.

                                                     Thank you gentlemen

Importing oversize logos and reducing them will make them sharper.

This sounds like you are saving in DXT BMP with the mips box checked, save withou mips.

Garry,

I thank you for that bit of info. I read about that (MIPS) thing in the readme files, but damn if I know what the heck they are.

I was in that DXT.bmp program lastnight and noticed the mips box 'was' checked.

                                       Thanks again Garry

Garry,

Thank you brother Smiley

If I could, I would buy you a beer man!  Now thats the way there supposed to look.

Now I can get to work fixing and uploading my repaints.

Thank you all for your help!
