F1 has lost one of the greats, and he didn't even work for a team!
RIP Sid.

F1 own a unpayable debt to Sir (professor) Sid Watkins. His book "Life at the Limit: Triumph and Tragedy in Formula One" is a very addictive read.

His wife's (semi/occasionally authorised) biography of Bernie has an interesting look at the relationship between the Professor and Bernie.

IIRC it was a coincidence that Sid first met his wife on the weekend of the 1982 Canadian Grand Prix - a tragic weekend in itself.

RIP.
