I always smile when I hear the "pissed" expression used.  The first time I heard it (the European usage) I was at a party of students from an international school.  Being only 18 myself I was relatively new to drinking.  I overheard our German host say something about getting pissed, so I spent half the night wondering what made him so angry! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I think that's why a lot of our comedy often doesn't work in the USA, and elsewhere.

Although the English words are somewhat similar, the actual word usage is often very different, and jokes, etc, are often lost on the outside listener/reader!

I love playing with English words!

...especially being a "Cockney" Londoner!

Paul.....cor, blimey, Guv!...Stone the crows!... Wink...!

A foreign friend once observed that a person was truly fluent in a language when he could understand the humor.
