Thanks for those.  I find that especially with instrument flying in an older tub without advanced avionics (and hence a few more complexities in flight), it is almost impossible to get everything in order without some form of shorthand.  It doesn't help with age either... whereas my memory keeps getting shorter and shorter.

Cheers,
RB

Touchι.... Grin... Grin...!

I constantly find myself pressing the key; "Say again?", when Flight Sim ATC instructions burst through my "headphones", without much advance warning!... Embarrassed..!
I'm pretty sure that REAL Air Traffic Control would quickly get annoyed with me in having to repeat every instruction to me all over again...every time!

I do jot things down on a piece of paper as they are broadcast, but by the time I have written down my Transponder code, I have missed/forgotten just about everything else!...

..."Say again?"... Embarrassed....!

In real life; background radio mush, strange accents, etc, ...plus keeping control of the aircraft...must make it very difficult to remain efficient with Air Traffic Control!

Paul... Grin... Grin...!
