Bearing mind I live next to the main road through town, although I am surrounded by trees...........but first a small story.....

Last March , my youngest, Sam saw on a wild life program a squirrel box. After much badgering, we had a father son project....So I bought some wood and we retired to my "man cave" and started to build said box. Once the bits had been cut and the building started, Sam told me he would be back in a minute, he needed to go to the toilet. Well, some time later I was still alone building said box. It would appear that Sam got diverted upon exiting the toilet and I found him playing on the Wii with his brother. Asking if he was coming out again, I was asked if I would be using any more "power tools". No, I would not was my answer. To which he replied that I could carry on and he would inspect the box when it was finished!!!!!!!!!! Undecided

So it was back to my workshop to finish said box. Well, the box was finished and then screwed to the pergola around our patio. And there it has stayed, full of nuts since the middle of March. Today (at last) we had our first visitor and managed to take a picture or two........... Grin

Matt

Wonderful shots, Matt... Smiley...!

I occasionally get Grey Squirrels in my back garden, but I am very wary of them...
..I suspect they could be quite dangerous if cornered!

No Red Squirrels though*... Cry...!

We see a decent amount of reds here, possibly because of the wildlife park nearby that has red squirrels running wild and breeding so quite a few escape into the area, but still too much greys, wich is strange since we saw about 5 red but only 3 greys here so far.
