Does anyone know how I can fix this issue of floating just above the ground? Obviously I need to correct something in FSDS 3.5

I'm thinking it’s a problem with the contact points in the aircraft.cfg.

Check that you’ve got the right positions in the Contact Points Section of the Aircraft.cfg.

Hello Snake36Bravo,

As Andy190 says it is a contact point problem – However if  YOU created the Aircraft in FsDs and compiled it Yourself – then You can go back into Fsds – reset the Aircraft vertically – Then recompile the Aircraft for the Flight Simm !! Probably Not Hey ?? Undecided

If You are not familiar with changing *.cfg files  - I can do a Screed on how to change the Contact Points and Put The Rubber on the Road – if You so desire  - let Me know – and give Me a day to organize it . Wink

Otherwise there is tons of  info on the Internet about it !! This was a big Mountain for Me to climb ! Smiley

Hey Johnman,

I'll try resetting the aircraft within FsDs. I'm familiar with editing the *.cfg and have just not the contact points section which honestly looks like a whole mess of numbers I'll need to decipher.

If you look at the aircraft.cfg for the default Bell 206B (under ..\SimObjects\Rotorcraft\) you'll find annotations above the [contact_points] section explaining the values.

Also in the 'fsxsdk.chm' SDK help file under 'Simobject Creation Kit'.

Example from the 206B:

point.0=3,   4.83,   3.33,
-4.50
,   <-----Verticle (feet), making it less negative lowers the ac.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

You know....you can just rip up a to-do list.
