It could be me ,but has any one else noticed that in this past days all the Flight talking has lower down?

Or maybe its just this site

But to be honest, what can people could talk about ,Repaints?

Is it too early to say I was wrong when I said 6 months?   Tongue Lips Sealed

IF, as you say, the tide of protests is receding, there can be only ONE reason. I think people are simply tiring to speak about a thing that in no way can begin to answer to their needs and expectancies.

By going over to Prepar3d (or whatever is called) or X-plane, or whatever other SIMULATOR out there, or even for the moment electing to remain with the actual simulator they own, I guess life continues.

There's a saying where I live: graveyards are chock full of indispensable people... and software too, I feel to append in this occasion. Shame no one ever told M$ this proverb. They could have avoided cobbling together yet another failure.

There is no such a thing as overkill. Only unworthy targets.

I would love to see some financial stats on what Flight cost and what Flight has profited. Until then, I continue to feel sorry for the developers that were forced to go the route that MS suits pushed them. In the best of the software society, you would hire the best talent, and stand back and watch them work. Let things develop and see what they come up with. NOT put up your own dream and ask someone to write it in less than two years.

Cool That's how the highly successful  freeware society succeeds. Let them go, and look at the amazing results.

I think it's simply  because what had to be said  has already be said  many times  over.

When you'r disapointed  with something,  you lose intertest  in it quickly.

The game does not interest me, so therefor I no longer comment. I only post in this as I saw the thread title as I opened up the forum main window.

Well... Wink...

..this thread has suddenly woken me up to the fact that I haven't run my (free) copy of "Flight" for a few weeks now!
It just sits somewhere in my Hard Drive, together with lots of my various other games.
Meanwhile, I daily enjoy my copy of FS 2004, as I have, since the  day it was first released, many Moons ago!... Smiley..!
I occasionally try out my copy of FSX which I purchased on the day it was first released, but without the necessary hardware to run it at maximum settings (very important!), it takes second place to my trusty copy of FS 2004....(Whether you agree..or not!.. Tongue... Grin...).
So, although "Flight" has dropped down one place in the Forum list, I very much hope that FS 2004 will retain its pride of place in the Sim V list for all we dedicated FS 2004 enthusiasts... Smiley...!
I still reckon that the Aces Team did a very good job with FS 2004 to make it universally playable and popular!

Newcomers to M$ Flight Sim will obviously pick FSX from the shelves, because that is the version which is currently stocked.

But the day that I will be dragged, kicking and screaming, away from my trusty FS 2004 is still a very long way off!... Grin...!

(As the old saying goes:..."Newer is not always Better!")... Wink...!

...and "Flight"?... Huh...

....Let me think now...where did I put it?... Roll Eyes...!

Paul... Grin...!

Jet... Wink...!

Pop round to my place, and I will give you a demonstration of both my FS 2004 and my FSX running on my computer, over the same area of scenery, and you will definitely see the difference...

...trust me!... Grin...!

Dinner provided...(Perhaps).. Wink...!

If I can find the time and the patience, I will post comparison shots of the two Sims running...that should finally convince you.. Wink...!

Paul...progressed from FS '98, Sim by Sim, through to FSX... Cool...!

By the way...I never have any problems with my FS 2004 version...or the hardware to run it...can you say the same?... Grin...!

Paul, have you updated FSX to SP2? This makes a big improvement in performance.

Yep, Andy...

Been there, done it all since day one, lost patience, decided that life is far too short for so much daily messing about!... Wink.. Grin..!

With all my fantastic bits and bobs, both payware and freeware, added to my FS 2004 over the years, means that I can run the whole Sim flat-out, with dense scenery spreading way out into the far distance all around me, (and not popping up in chunks, as I approach it)!
It really is, quite amazing now!...It has to be seen, to be believed!
(...and dont forget all my special/vital FS 2004 programs: LAGO FSE and FS Navigator, etc, which are not available for FSX!).

I just fire up my Sim every morning, and have FUN, with a BIG smile on my FS 2004 face!... Grin... Grin...!
..and everything runs perfectly, with no fiddling about!

Paul...a Very Old Flight Simmer!... Grin...!

P.S...don't try and "convert" me!... Grin... Grin... Grin...!

Fozzer, you've just made me install fs9 again! Why...
1. I've got a dvd full with planes and addons.
2. Your constant publicity department.
3. Comparing with fsx.
Cool
