I've heard the phrase "The gun just went off" too many times in news reporting of accidental (or otherwise) shootings. Seems to me there really has to be a finger on a trigger first.

Hollywood has a nasty habit of distorting reality, historically and otherwise in a lot more than cop shows and gun tales. Reading movie reviews on IMBD brings that out. And after seeing last nights 'Frontline' installment of crime scene investigation and forensic matters, my view of those two subjects is now forever changed.
