...And it still requires you to sign up for something  Grin

'Steam' are now providing the game, and you can purchase the addons through them too.

If you're not aware of Steam, it's a program on your computer which lets you look through thousands of games and purchase them through the software, then you download and play it through Steam. Not every game is available, as Steam don't have the rights to all of the games, but a lot of games are available... Including a lot of simulators, first person shooters, etc. You can also play online with Steam as the client.

In essence, it is Games for Windows Live, but more than just Microsoft games, and not run by Microsoft.

Just an FYI... To be honest though, it is worth a look for the games other than MS Flight, but it's still useful to know.

The question is does it actually run MS Flight without Live? I am curious because a number of Steam games also require using the online system that the original game came with. For example games like the older Battlefield titles can be bought on Steam but also require sign in through the EA servers to play, essentially requiring a double log on. Have you tried the Steam version?

And for what its worth I would go Steam over Live any day.  Cool

A fair few military sims are also available on Steam too by the way  Smiley

You may be looking for an alternative to the uber-popular photo sharing app. With all of Facebook’s privacy issues, some mobile photographers may shy away from using an app owned by the social network.

I am waiting for the day when I can ignore the unwashed unwanted; "Windows Live"... Angry....

...and use "FS Host" for connection to On-line Multiplayer; "Flight" instead!... Roll Eyes...!

I have no use for Windows Live, or anything else like it.

... Grin... Grin... Grin...!

"Flight" is merely an addition to all my other zillions of flight simulators, (etc), dating back into the far distant past... Grin...!

Its just something else to play with, on a rainy day!

The question is does it actually run MS Flight without Live
the answer is no. i bought ms flight using my steam account. you still need to open windows live to integrate your stuff into the game.

I thought that would be the case... Roll Eyes The only advantage I can see to buying it on Steam is that they have a discount bundle of a few of the DLC items together.
