... or does anyone else find it a little tactless to offer a Japanese Zero to fly around over Hawaii?

Considering the history of Hawaii I did find it a questionable choice.

Edited:

...and it's not only you. There has been quite a bit of attention to this subject in other forums and on the Flight website.

"Questionable choice" seems to sum up MS Flight quite nicely.

I'm glad I made the decision to not play around with this "game". I find it insulting. IMO, it's like offering New York city instead of Hawaii to fly over.....then offering to add the World Trade Center(s) for.........Insulting........ Angry

I haven't messed around with Flight at all, and when I first read this post I thought it was a joke. Then curiosity got the better of me and I went to the site to see for myself.  Shocked

It definitely is a bit tactless. At least MS didn't give us a Kate Torpedo Bomber or a Val Dive Bomber.

If they made those they could have made a scenario where you had to sink the US Battleships. Shocked

What are MS going to do next? Give us a scenario where we fly a 747 round 2001 NY?

I'm another that hasn't bothered with Flight. But seriously, I doubt MS intended to insult anyone. It's just error #619877hr33cx4i19k. It just means 'whoops!'

Nope. With the 747 you'll have to take off from Tenerife, with all the unfortunate implications that follow.

Give'm time. They're trying very hard to displease everyone, but the success of their attempt needs its time.

Let's not get carried away with this guys.  It's a faux pas, yes; but not THAT big of one.  And to get it straight, if they did offer a 9/11 scenario, it would have to be a 757 and a 767.

The whole conversation should end before it gets REALLY tasteless...

thats French for ' its a screw up' isnt it? the kind of thing that happens when you dont have adequate quality controls in place. The PR folks at MS must be really happy with this one Sad
