Who had the idea to race cars without headlights at night?

...

By the time this is over the winning average speed will be under 100 mph.

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

This had to be the longest Daytona in its history. I watched it from begining to end and wow! Montoyas car let go on him which sent em out of control to hit the jet dryer truck. They got back to racing a little over 2 hours later and what a hell of a finish for Dale Jr! The only Hendrick car of 4 on the track that survived to the end. I have high hopes for Danika this year. Talk about a piss poor speed week for her. In the Duals she gets hit 2 turns before the final lap. Nationwide she gets the pole only to have her own team mate over bump draft her and take her out. Then in the Daytona not even into lap 2 Jimmys wreck sucks her up for 50 plus laps to put a new rear end on her car. Damn shame. Race was over at just about 1 AM this morning. I just woke up  Grin. Well, on to Phoenix boys and girl!

They were still cleaning it up when I went to bed at 10:30 (I get up at 4:00 AM).  That was a serious mess and frightening to watch happen.  All I know is they came back from a commercial to Montoya's car sitting trashed on the green and the commentators asking what the hell just happened.  I thought it was Matt Kenseth that won it?

As for Danica Patrick, she is probably the most over-rated driver in the history of the sport.  The woman has won exactly ONE race.  ONE in her entire professional career.  She's had exactly 5 pole starts.  That's in 11 years of racing. If any other driver had that poor of a record, they would have lost their ride long ago.  Roll Eyes  To top it off, she blames her problems on her pit crew.

To be perfectly fair though, Dale Jr. hasn't had a win in something like 130 races.  Tongue

My boy, Jeff Gordon busted a crankshaft...

I was still waitin for Junior Bonner and Cale Yarbough to lead the race, then again I haven't watched a Nascar nut race since 1972, so, I may be a tad bit behind times ,,,,,

Dale Jr. and Danika Patrick should be on a team together. Most overrated drivers. The fact that Dale Jr. is the highest paying NASCAR driver is a joke. Hasn't one a race since 2008.  Grin Grin Grin Grin I laugh at both of them. I'll give Danika a standing applause if she makes it in the Top 10 of a race. Not sure she'll be able to finish the Sprint Cup series this year if she keeps crashing her cars.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin I could go on for days ..............

As far as the race it was very intense finish, really really bummed JJ got bumped at Lap 2. He was able to fly home and watch the end of the race because of all the delays (saw on his twitter) .... Was hoping Denny Hamlin could win but he couldn't seem to get up there.

I visited Embry Riddle Daytona last year around March and the racetrack is VERY close to the school..so as these cars finished at 1AM Eastern Time...all I could think of was...those ERAU students must be killing themselves with this loud noise going on. Grin

Good race though! Action packed and very tough to stay alive and not get wrecked! This season should be good. Anyone wanna place any bets??  Wink

I'm sorta interested to see what Danica will amount to once she starts a streak of not being 'victimized'.

Although I'm not a betting man, I will wager a fair amount that Junior snaps, then bests, his losing streak at a much faster pace than that Tigger guy will.

But that's just me. Wink
