I just hope the Libyan people can now make a better future for themselves.
Believe me Flight 103 wasn't the half of the evil this man perpetrated... No loss to the world!

He got what he richly deserved. End of story. And Mr B, prime minister where I live, had to go and make a regretful declaration about it... sic transit gloria mundi his ass, that bastard and his happily dead pal. Hope he join him soon in hell.

I'm surprised no one here has mentioned the fact that Gaddafi gave his people free power, free water, $50,000 when people were getting married to help them start off, less than 5% of people in his country were classified as poor, the fact that if you needed a house, he would make sure you got one, If you needed a farm, he would make sure you got land, and all that in a desert. From what I know it was only the former justice minister who claimed that it was Gaddafi. I haven't finished researching that could re-enforce the last fact through.
Gaddafi did many bad things to his people, but if all the leaders of the world countries were thoroughly searched and somehow had all the crimes revealed, you would be surprised that he would come after the top 0 who haven't been caught.

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

On the other hand ...

As Libya takes stock, Moammar Kadafi's hidden riches astound

Quote:
Reporting from Washington— Moammar Kadafi secretly salted away more than $200 billion in bank accounts, real estate and corporate investments around the world before he was killed, about $30,000 for every Libyan citizen and double the amount that Western governments previously had suspected, according to senior Libyan officials.

The new estimates of the deposed dictator's hidden cash, gold reserves and investments are "staggering," one person who has studied detailed records of the asset search said Friday. "No one truly appreciated the scope of it."

If the values prove accurate, Kadafi will go down in history as one of the most rapacious as well as one of the most bizarre world leaders, on a scale with the late Mobutu Sese Seko in Zaire or the late Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines ...

Well, it's normal. I'm not saying right or just, only normal, given the subject. Give the impression to the masses of dupes you're generous spending tuppence for your public image, and hide the greater part of the booty where only you can put your hands upon. Classical SOB move.

We in Italy too have someone like that.

I guess where is now he can really enjoy all of it, and good riddance.

The death of one man in no way brings justice to the families of the victims of Lockerbie. It is a hallow victory and not something to be celebrated.
The death of one person can no way atone for the loss of hundreds of lives.

Also the killing of Gaddafi as bad as he was, was a war crime.

It's so hypocritical of us in the 'west' to celebrate his death. We helped the rebels in order to stop Gaddafi committing war crimes yet we celebrate the war crime committed by the rebels.

This is not a computer game with a list of objectives to complete this is the real world.
