I have a laptop that I want to install some sort of flight simulator on, and I don't know really what this computer is capable of. It is a Dell Latitude D610, with:

1 gig of ram
1.6ghz processor
40gb hard drive
a Radeon X300 with 64mb video memory
all on windows XP

I know its top of the line  Cheesy

I was thinking of getting fs 98, or fs2000 for it.. its prolly just too good for fs2k2 :p

Is there a way of manually controlling the fan? this thing gets red hot sometimes and it just gets too hot for my lap.. there is no overheating problems with it.. but if I could crank the fan up on it, it would make me much more confortabe with it..

Also, I was wondering if there was a lock for the CPU.. It should adjust depending on what I am doing, but I dont exactly trust it.. and seems I dont have a battery I want to lock it at its max frequency so I can trust its at its max processing power all the time.

Thanks  Smiley

highest I would go would be FS2002, 2000 might even work better, but I think your biggest drawback would be the 1GB of ram.

As for manually controlling the fan speed are there any settings you could change in the bios?
