It's here!!  The 2011-2012 season starts today.  Six more months until playoff season.  EA favors Pittsburg to win Lord Stanley's cup this year.  I think it will be between Tampa and Vancouver.  But I am forever hopeful that the Wings will prevail and show everyone why they are the best!  Good luck to everyone and here's to a safe season of hard hits and awesome saves!  Go Wings!!

I'm 50/50 on how the Avs will finish this year. Not to sure. I think we have the ability to finish around 4th or 3rd in the division...or it could go like last year and be last. I mean 2 brand new goalies.......who knows. Wink But Mueller's back.  Smiley

Avs in a close one.

Avs-6
Habs-5
Final/SO

Avs move to 4-1 on the season. Great road trip so far (4-0) with one game left. It was a great game to watch for either fan. Lets see if we can carry over this great hockey to next week against Toronto and Chicago.  Cool

...and I see that the Wings won in overtime also. Can't complain with that though I picked them to win.  Wink

Indeed I was biting my lip, we were dominating after the first period and should have ran them over, but those first two goals snuck past Howard.  Wasn't his fault either, he was screened by our own guys.  Hopefully they learn from this and continue the streak.

Avs are showing promise too.  Who knows, maybe us underdogs will dominate the league this year.  Everyone keeps talking about the sharks and penguins.  They aren't showing me much.  Crosby is due back soon, but is he going to be the same?  Let Kronwall get a hold of him haha.

Players are never the same after an injury that takes a long recovery process. And yeah this year shows some promising underdogs just like the NFL. I'm loving it so far.  Cheesy

And on a positive note...sharks blew their game tonight.  Smiley

Well my beloved Stars are doing pretty good so far. We're not playing the most attractive hockey, but Lehtonen is rock solid and saved us quite a bit. Hopefully Benn keeps getting better and better this year and the new vets we got can hold everything down. I can't wait to see what the new owners bring with them, we need new ticket prices because that arena has been EMPTY lately... Mind you they're competing against the Rangers (World Series baby!) and the Cowboys (I've got nothing for that one...).
Also keeping a close eye on the Avs, Philly, and Toronto. I really like how they played so far.

Stars at 8, Wings at 2...

Toronto and Avs should be a great game tonight. I'll be watching that and MNF. Should be a good night.  Cool

Great evenly matched game tonight! A thrilling finish but the Avs come through!!

Avs-3
Leafs-2
Final OT

Avs go back home after a 5-0 road trip!  Cheesy 5 game win streak moves up to 5-1....leading the western conference and nhl!  Smiley...may be early but always good to start with confidence.

This week long interval between Wings games is killing me, but if it keeps them rested and they stay undefeated I'll deal with it  Grin

Cool  Wings are 5-0 now.  I'm a bit concerned for Saturdays game against the Caps though.  We will be starting our backup goalie.  Gotta have faith though!

Yeah well now you've played a real team and got you a** kicked!  Cheesy Grin

Not that the wings suck or anything. Avs pulled through and won in shootout again keeping our road streak perfect (6-0) and our horrible home streak (0-2) but the Avs move to 6-2 after last night and my fantasy hockey plan worked out perfectly with Varlamov and Crawford. Both played against eachother twice meaning I got automatic 2 wins. Came back last night to get 10 points from my skaters (FINALLY THEY PRODUCED POINTS) and won this week (because he has noone playing today).  Smiley

Yeah I'm not going to discuss last nights game.  Sickening.  And my fantasy team just isn't making the cut either, although I think I have a good line up for this week.  Once Luongo gets back in his groove and Howard keeps his streak alive I should start producing some more wins.
