Hi Folks,

I am new here. I reviewed the forum and if I missed a topic on how to add/fly add on planes I apologize in advance.

On the CF2 Aircraft section of this site I saw this file/description.

"CFS2 Overhauled TBD Devastator. Replacement files for the Stock MS AI Devastator. Includes Folding Wings,Cowling flaps, modified rear gunner position, aim doors, and virtual cockpit and working gauges. Anamation added to Center Canopy and other goodies. Smashing Time textures "Un-mirrored". New Torpoedo and Prop. By DeBolt. 3.5MB "

After I downloaded the file I read the install instructions below.

"Installation:

Replace the stock Devastator with this one.

Copy the "TBD1_Devastator" folder into your CFS2/aircraft folder
Copy the gauges to the CFS2/GAUGES folder.

MK 13 Torpedo Install
Copy the contents of the OBJECTS_Dp folder to the CFS2/OBJECTS_DP folder.
Copy the contents of the Scenedb folder to the CFS2/OBJECTS_DP folder.

Textures have four new areas added. Cowl flaps, ex.pipes, antena, and seat supports.
These will need to be copy and pasted into other textures.

For other "Add on" textures,
Make a copy of your "_t.bmp" file and rename it "_r.bmp".
This is the new right side texture.

Make a copy of your "_d.bmp" and rename it "_b.bmp".
This is the new right side damage texture.

Thanks to:
Debolt for the Prop. and Torpedo.
Smashing Time for Textures.
Pen32Win for his Modded Smashing Time textures.
Ivan Hsu for his wonderful MDLC program.
Manfred Moldenhauer for his scasm compiler and Tutorials.
Corrado La Posta for his tutorial.
Caleb Flerk for his tutorials.
And Bruce T. for his modified MDL's.

CFS2 must be running in full screen mode not in a Window.

Don't forget to use the "D" key to open the Aim Doors.

My question ( sorry for the long post ) is does this file mean I can fly the TDB and if so is it in missions or quick combat or both.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Yes, the OH (overhauled) stock AI planes are a complete conversion to full player aircraft status.  Cool

Please note that The B24 Guy has done overhauls on most all of the AIs, and making them flyable is just a small part of what he has done.

Also be aware that there are 'Fixes' posted for several of these that you want to keep an eye peeled for.

Note:  There is a separate download available that makes all of the AIs flyable, but adds no other goodies like the OH versions have.  Wink

Tango_Romeo,

Thanks very much for the reply. That is great news. I will search for any updates.

I think that is great folks take the time to make so many planes flyable.

I haven't flown this one yet. So I'm not sure about the quick Combat. there is a utility that you can use.

grab the CFS2 one (though they are probly the same)

Now as far as missions go. If the Mission is made for that plane then you'll just jump in and go. If not then just Choose it before you fly. There are some good missions out there.
