I want to build a throttle quadrant to control two engines throttle, prop, and mixture using the KEAD6.  What type and size (ohms) pots should I use?  I use Windows 7 and FS2004.
Thanks for any help on this.

Welcome to the Homebuild section.

Hagstrom's website is probably the best place to check this question out.  I use some hagstrom stuff... but not that unit.

Maybe someone else here has some experience with it.

best,

Hi John, thanks for your reply.  I have talked to Hagstrom and they will not commit to any specific ohm values other than a range of 500 to 1m ohms.  I am hopeing some one here could help me with my specific application.

REALLY!!!!  Strange.  I have always found then VERY helpful.

Maybe what they are saying is that any value in the range will work fine.  The main tip I acn give you is get linear taper pots.  Audio taper is logrithmic.. and will not work.

If you are goinmg to gear the mechanical linkage, maybe look for multi-turn pots.  But you'll need to do the gear ratio calcs so that you get the full range of the pot's values.

Thanks John for your advice.  I think I will start out with a 500 ohm pot and see how that works out.
