WINNERS, WINNERS, WINNERS

Judge SeanTK says :

"My JC choices:"

XxRazgrizxX!!

...

"Very cool idea! I love the angle, and lighting conditions, and the action in this shot is simply great! You presented a very unique situation that really stood out above the other civilian cruisers."

CONGRATULATIONS XxRazgrizxX !!!!

"Skoker takes second place!"

...

"The crispness and color usage in this shot really stood out. Although the angle of the shot is rather traditional, this image shows that it does not matter in the least. The background cloud formations/sky conditions look great, and the use of a red plane on a generally neutral background really makes it pop out!"

Third place is for Bob70!

...

"I like how you managed to get a wide angle show with minimal distortion of the aircraft. The background environment looks rugged yet still inviting, and the path towards the camera that the contrails highlight is pretty neat in my opinion."

You know what a turboprop is!
And if you don't know what four-engined means, I'll assume you're 4. Grin

Umm, hmm, wow.
Donald Duck after getting turned into a weird flower-thingy.
Isn't that from the Bugs Bunny movie?
What does that have to do with anything?

Nice, but would probably look better without the contrails.  Wink (And this is a turboprop. Since when do they make contrails?  Roll Eyes)

To me the contrails give the shot a sense of motion. Thats why I was at a high altitude to produce them.
Turboprops do and can make contrails.  That holds true for props also. Piston Aircraft, whose exhaust are cooler still can make contrails. Look at WWII footage of the bomber streams or the battle of Britain and you will see the contrails. So, yes, turboprops can make a contrail.

Powered aircraft of all types will create contrails if conditions are suitable. Turboprops don't generally fly high enough to create them.

I rather like Bob's shot. Smiley

For example, contrails can be made at ground level if it's cold enough.

Great shot Larry. That airport should probably consider investing in a better drainage system! Wink Grin
