Who ever wrote that rule last year needs to be shot...

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Video-Controversial-rule-s...

Since when isn't two feet and possession at the time he goes down not a touchdown...like i said, Everyone hates the lions, except lions fans...we won that game, i dont care what anyone says.

If that would have been the Bears it wouldn't have even went to review...but god forbid the lions actually win a road game...

Sorry if im being a bit rude but if you cant tell im kinda pissed off  Angry  Grin

Cris Collinsworth agrees with you.

Therefore I have no choice but to believe that you are incorrect.

But it sure looked like a catch to me.

I'm not a Lions fan, but being from Michigan they have a special place in my heart, and their fans are the most loyal of any other team given their record.

The Refs did the right thing, it's the rule that hosed the Lions.  Sad

Dustin Johnson's rules violation costs him a shot at the PGA

This would not be a violation on any other course in the world.

This would not be a violation on this course at any other time - it was only a violation on this course and during this tournament.

Thats as bad a call as they come, there was no obscure rule about this. He had possession, he had possession when he tapped two feet, he kept possession when his knee hit the floor, he still had possession when his elbow hit the ground, a catch only requires two feet and possession, a play is also confirmed when a knee is down, and then the final point of call is the elbow. as long as the receiver isn't bobbling the ball in any of these acts its a catch. He had full control the first two, he still had it when his elbow hit. That play being in the endzone is complete, its a TD and I hope the officials get a pasting for that one.

I am a Bears fan, That was a sloppy win.. I must admit.
I think every team has had those kind of calls, sometimes for you, and sometimes against you.  Wink

I do not argue that he had possession and that it was a touchdown.  I don't even understand the rule that the refs referenced, but from what a lot of experts are saying, it was the right call.  I was just quoting them.   Undecided

Even though I am a Vikings fan (Minneapolis is closer to my home town than Detroit even though I am from Michigan) I would like to see the Lions at least get to post season, maybe even a SB win, their fans deserve it and like I said, I am still from Michigan so I still silently cheer for them  Grin

It wasnt a bad call. Sportscenter pulled out the rule that said why this wasnt a touchdown. I think this rule is stupid and should be removed because I think it was a touchdown...but the refs did make the right call, I mean its in the rule book.

Kinda like how Dustin Johnson lost The PGA Championship....even though thats golf, he lost because of a rule he had no clue about and noone agreed with but its a rule.

ESPN did a poll on if they should change that rule that caused the officals to call back the touchdown...80 something percent said yes, so believe us, it was crap!!

I think this should be a message to all WR's, TE's, and RB's in the league. If you think about it, I highly doubt the NFL will go out of there way to change this rule. May as well start to obey it.
