Good grief!... Shocked....

They are dragging "Religion" kicking and screaming into "Football " now!

Quote:
"Another [Prayer], written for those with no interest in the game, asks that they may be granted "the gift of sympathy".
End quote.

...I don't think so!... Wink.... Wink.....!

Paul..... Grin....!

Will you be praying to; " 'im up there" for a goal?... Roll Eyes... Wink... Grin...!

You have a God Fozzer, in a pub in Piccadilly! I took a trip into central London on Friday and saw a pub with a huge sign outside proclaiming a "Wold Cup Football free zone".. It's just behind St. James' church if you're interested  Wink

Personally I'll be watching every game, each to their own of course.

To my way of thinking, these Archbishop, Bishop, etc, fruit-cases, who peddle this mumbo-jumbo, make a mockery of the Game, with no benefits!...Wink...!

Paul...watching England v Mexico on Free-view....

....got 'im up there to pop out for a Balti Curry for me!... Grin... Grin... Grin...!

Firstly, the only reason I read this thread about football was out of astonishment, a football thread started by Fozzer, a man with slightly more interest in football than myself Grin Grin

Secondly to add to your pub find Rob, my parents owned their own restaurant many moons ago in the village of Polpero in Cornwall. Every time the world cup or European cup was on (it was always the hight of the tourist season) my mother would put a huge sign outside to the effect, "no football here". They were always packed.............with happy wives with grumpy husbands Grin

Matt

PS Paul, maybe for the period of dead inflated pig/cow kicking your should change your name to Fozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzer Grin

The thing that has always confused me about prayer in sport is surely both teams are sending up prayers to their deity of choice and the losers can probably now sue the winners on the grounds of religious prejudice e.g. their God prefering them....

It's more confusing when both sides are praying to the same god. Roll Eyes Lips Sealed
