Wife has given me a cd version of Flight 1's Pilatus -12 which, to this newboy in FSX, looks very formidable, indeed, I think I can  fly most single engines  reasonably competently now but this plane looks very difficult. I base this on the accompanying pilot manual. Has anyone flown this plane? Any tips on how to break in?

The only thing I can suggest is to read the flight manual, and practice with the aircraft systems. You'll be missing out on a lot if you are unwilling to invest in the time it takes to learn a complex aircraft such as this simply  because it takes more effort than learning the default aircraft.
In this case, it's as it is in real life: Learn about the aircraft first (how it works, what does what, etc.) rather than just getting in and trying to fly with no knowledge. It came with a flight manual for a reason, so I would start out with learning all about the plane's systems while still on the ground, and then go from there.

This is a great plane, have it for FS9.  Good climb, good cruise, good IFR performer.  Only thing I don't like is the KLN90 GPS, so I modified the panel.cfg so I could have the Garmin.  This plane is like a big Mooney, albeit with a turbine and pressurization, etc.  Very easy to fly.  Just read the manual.
