That's right FS9ers, there will be an update to the airport that includes room for our FS2004 flyers.

When I started the project, ADE did not have FS9 capabilities, but now that it does, I can try this.

Although ADE now has FS9 capabilties, it is still fairly limited, so I will be working with Capt.Propwash, who has a whole bunch (very technical terms here) of scenery design tools.

This project will be an expansion pack for the original, meaning the current airports will be used, but more hangars will be added. This should make multiplayer very fun.

There are now 8 new hangar positions available, for people flying in FS9 only. If you missed out on a hangar last time and you also have FS9, now is your chance.

The "Expansion Pack" will also include some fixes to issues discovered in the original release. There will also be some improvements, such as an ILS and VOR at each airport.

Here is the current sign up status:

1. Capt.Propwash
2. Mazza
3. patchz
4. JakesF14
5. Jisco
6. ApplePie
7. Fozzer
8. SeanTK

There are only 7 positions left FS9ers, so hurry if you want a spot.

All spots are now full.

Mods, please make this a Sticky with the other one, thanks.

Cool

I know I already have a FSX spot, but if you wind up needing to fill a spot here, I'd gladly take one for my FS9 usage. But only if there is a vacant spot.  Wink

It would go perfectly with my FS9 Simviation airports in New York and Europe.  Cool

I've added the ILS and VOR in ADE, and there are already helipads. You can deffinately edit the frequencies when I send you the files, but that won't be until the list is complete so I can finish the taxisigns. I also need the terrain fixed, but we talked about that already.

I can add beacons in ADE, but I don't know if they work, so I'll leave that up to you.

Cool

One is in Arizona, and one is in Nevada.

There are also two FS9 Simviation airports,

one off the coast of New York -  http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery107.htm

FS2004 'Simviation International Airport' USA V1.0 (SIMV) (Beta version).  Located in the Long Island Sound between New York and Connecticut, Simviation's first airport has loads of fun runways, plus Two Concorde shaped terminals and a military hanger with doors that open at a certain frequency. The Terminal and Military hanger are by Jessy Corrales, the animated hanger doors are by Richard Stermer and the AFCAD designing and creation of the airport are by me, Ryan Murphy. Thanks everybody for making this airport possible. 254K

and one in Europe - http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery109.htm

FS2004 'Simviation' Airport Europe..  This airport is identical to the simple 'Simviation USA' airport but this one is loacated in the UK instead. Enjoy this airport. Credits to myself, Ryan Murphy, for the AFCAD designing and creation of this airport and credits also to Richard Stermer and Jessy Corrales for making Concorde shaped concourse and military hanger. 175K

For the two I linked to, The USA one is SIMV and the European one is SIME

None of these are real airports.  I'm not sure what Brandon's ICAO codes for his in FS9 will be.

Don't worry about the other ones, this is for my airports that were made for FSX. I am now making an FS9 version. There are no pre-existing ones for FS9, so there are no maps, but here are some shots:

Quote:
It's basically done. I just need to work out some hangar placement issues. Here's some shots:

Arizona:

http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/smva1.jpg

http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/smva2.jpg

Nevada:

http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/smvn1.jpg

http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/smvn2.jpg

I wish there was a way to make the hangars wide but not so tall.  Cry You can see that these are big enough to turn around in a 737. You can see the placement issue too. They come up a few feet above where they should. I just need to play around with that to fix it. Other than that I just need to asign hangars (alphabetically) and it's done.

Frequency check::: Approach, Clearance Departure, Ground... and any others that might be needed.  (I don't think I can change the frequencies of the hangars.. but I will look into it none the less)

Hello Brandon...

Bung me, and my C150 and Baron, in No 7 Hanger, if its still vacant.... Kiss...!

My preferred locations in FS 2004 are Arizona and Nevada, (close to home....California!).... Smiley...!

Don't forget to include the VOR and NDB Radio Beacons, and their frequencies, for the Airfields, (makes them easier to locate!)

If you have included an ILS Glideslope for the Airfields, the NDB can be the Outer Marker!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Navigator.... Cool...!

P.S. just saved your excellent Map for reference!..>>>>

http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/SimVNeighborhoodMap.jpg

...where can I obtain the Airfield Scenery files, to download and install in my Add-on Scenery, for SMVN and SMVA?...or haven't they been uploaded to Sim V yet?

SMVN (Nevada) looks good.... Smiley...!

Its  close to Reno Airfield in Nevada, and a short hop over the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Sacramento and the Cal West Coast, my daily haunt!.... Smiley...!

I visited it today in my Beech Baron 58.

I will set the NDB/DME, VOR, ILS, AND 3 MARKERS (OM, MM, IM) ............. if you cant find the airports.. land the plane, get the hell out of it, walk away and never come back to it.

Hell, being that I have SBuilder, I might even try to make some kind of GIANT YELLOW/RED sign that says::

I have attempted to add the frequencies already, but seeing that I have no idea what I'm doing and I've never done it before, when I send you the files, please check my work.

I don't like to give dates, but I will try to get it mostly done this weekend.

Please be patient everyone. I don't have a lot of time to work on it, but I'm doing it as fast as I can.

Cool

Many of us use "FS Navigator" in FS 2004 for instrument flying, tuning into the various Radio Beacons en-route..... Tongue....
So Radio Beacons are really useful, as they are in real life!..Wink...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004....and FS Navigator!

Abacus FS 2004 Ez-Scenery Builder will allow you to select and position the FS 2004 VOR Stations and NDB Huts, etc, within the scenery...

I use it, together with LAGO FSE scenery enhancer for my own design Airfields....AFCAD us useful as well for VOR and NDB objects, and frequencies.

...well done Brandon....keep it going...Chocolate Cookies on the way...Wink...!

I have gotten in touch with some Contractors, and they brought out some equipment.  they are moving some dirty, laying concrete, and a whole lot more.  in a matter of just 5 HOURS!!!! that they have been working on it... so far they are almost done with the site work.

...

MAN these guys are FAST!!! ... 1 HR later.. Helipads just got poured, all taxiways are poured and forms removed, by tomorrow Hangars are probably gonna be in place.

how close are the AFCADS to being finished on your end?? If i just had only the AFCADS no buildings or anything yet.. then I could set the Flatten and Excludes for the airports and get them back to you so that you can continue working and finishing up the project.

I am working these issues right now:

-Hangars not displaying
-Both airports not showing up in the select airport list, but function perfect in the sim if you fly to them. In other words, the sim won't let me start from the airports. I asking for help on the ADE support forum for this one since I've never created an airport from scratch for FS9.

Brandon...

If the Airfields don't show up in the Sim list, what is the ICAO identifiers of the nearest Airfield to them so we can locate the Sim V Airfields from there....
...until they are added to the list...Wink...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004... Smiley...!

P.S....my own various Airfields/Airstrips  that I create in California also don't show up in the Sim List either.....I don't know how it can be done... Huh...!
...but any Airfields, and any VOR's and NDB's (and their frequencies) that I create, do show up in FS Navigator, using AFCAD!

just let me know when you would like for me to tweak your airports. I can also get them to show up in the "Select an Airport" list, ... all that I need is the AFCAD for the airports.

but then again, if you have AFCAD221, open your airport in that and make sure that in PROPERTIES it has all of the correct information then SAVE AS to your FS9/ADDON SCENERY/(SIMV NEIGHBORHOOD)/scenery folder like you would any other AF2_(airport name).    this is probably why they are not showing up in the select a flight.

also, while you have Afcad open, run FAULT FINDER.  It will pick up any problems like taxiways are not linked, no starting locations, hold short nodes in wrong places (too far from the runway), and a few other things.

Hello Multiplayer Chums... Smiley...

What is the latest news on the final completion of the Sim V Airfields in Nevada and Arizona?
(SIMVN) and (SIMVA)

They are listed in the Airfield Menu but they are completely vacant at the moment, and all interest in them seems to have been lost!

The whole exercise seems to have disappeared down the drain!

...any news?

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav....and a Truck load of liquid Concrete...slowly setting!..... Shocked....!

In case you are wondering about this, I sent the files off to Capt. Propwash to be finished. Sorry it took so long for me to send them. I wanted to sned them a month ago, but I got really sick for several weeks in March and I wasn't even on the computer.

Just in case anyone remembers that this is going on.  Wink The project has hit a few snags and to be honest, I have no clue when I can get it out. I wanted it out by now, but between me being sick and several other problems it just didn't happen.
