I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try.

I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What's most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

Maybe we'll see a little more competition on tour for a while.  He'll be back by July.  He may skip the Masters but the US Open is at Pebble Beach and he'd never miss that.

Well, that's just my personal guess at an outside date.

He might return for the first major of the year in April or he might return at a non-major to keep the publicity to a minimum.

But there is no way he would miss Pebble Beach.  It's where he won the US Open by 15 shots exactly 10 years ago.

ESPN said the PGA Tour might be worse without Tiger. Less people will watch they say on weekends and final rounds, less people might show. I think its kinda rediculous he's doing this.

We all know that his wife is staying for the $$$, he should use his get away sport as golf, although it is a big mental game I dont like Tigers idea of leaving.  Angry

I had to wait last year cause of his injury and now I have to wait AGAIN this year because of his marriage.  Undecided

Sucks Angry

Tiger Woods to skip WGC-Doral

Quote:
For anyone who might have had Doral in the pool of potential Tiger Woods comeback tournaments — you’re out of luck.

The entry list for next week’s WGC-CA Championship is out, and Woods’ name is not-so-conspicuously missing from among the 64 names.

Each of the next 35 golfers in the world rankings are entered, headlined by No. 2 Steve Stricker and defending champion (and No. 3) Phil Mickelson ...

Next up in the Tiger pool: Heavy favorites Tavistock Cup at Isleworth and Bay Hill’s Arnold Palmer Invitational….

Hey! I had the right idea!

http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=4985380

Looks like Tiger is planning on making his return to the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Not official or anything but looks pretty darn close to it!  Cheesy!
Go Tigerrr! Cool

His first tournament will be a circus. Better Bay Hill than Augusta.

Looks like it's going to be Augusta.

Link

Tiger Woods announced Tuesday that he will begin his 2010 season at the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in April.

"The Masters is where I won my first major, and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta ..."

The Tiger Woods story has jumped the shark.

Tiger Woods' kindergarten teacher Maureen Decker says golfer made up childhood racial attack story

Quote:
Retired teacher Maureen Decker emerged yesterday from Woods' sordid past to say that a story he's told about being brutalized by racist kids on his first day of kindergarten was pure bunk.

"I am asking Tiger for a private and public apology to put my mind at ease and set the record straight," said Decker, a smiling 69-year-old ...

And Gloria Allred needs to get a real job.

Talk about kicking a man when he's down. I'll be glad to see Woods get back to the business of winning tournaments. That should quiet the storm a bit.
