A flight simulator program with a dedicated website seems like a great idea.  Flightgear's site looks very good, lots of information about the sim, lots of downloadable aircraft, even a manual to help you along.  With just a few minutes of looking through the site, I'd say that this simulator looks good now, and has excellent potential, especially considering the doubtful future of Microsoft Flight Simulator.  I'll be checking this out as time permits.

The aircraft models look very good, by the way.

That's why there is now a dedicated section for flight Gear here at Simviation.

Soon, we will begin hosting addons for it, and possibly the program itself here as well. Cool

There is a link to the Flight Gear home page on the main Simviation page.

I for one think the possibilities are endless for this sim.

For one reason above all others: If you don't like something, you can change it, completely! No code restrictions preventing modification of any aspect of the sim.

The only reason this sim will fail, is if the Flight sim community lets it fail.  Wink

There is a learning curve to it for those who have known only MSFS, but once it is all hammered out, imagine what the greats who have built the MSFS Freeware world could do with this.  Shocked Cool
