Do any Cseries flight simulators need scrapping now?

Highly unlikely, they have only added a single screen. That screen will probably show information that is already on other screens, but now in a thinned out version. Same as the 5 screen display in the 737-800, some companies have all 5 screens displaying info and some only us 4 screens for the same info. The company that I work for had the 4 screen display and we would use the 5th screen as a spare if one of the others went down as they are all plug and play. In the last year we went to a 5 screen display. It involved a couple of cable jumpers and nothing more. It has no effect on sim time or new rating, just an instruction letter on the new function of the new screen for the pilots to read. As it is a lower centre screen it will not display anything of huge importance. The basic "T" still applies to cockpit display regardless of the display media. For example (again) the 737-800 it shows control surface deflection.......hardly earth shattering importance Grin
