Can't say I'm a fan of JustFlight...
I bought Airliner Pilot and that pretty much blew, the gauges and VC didn't work at all.

Never tried any of their payware stuff, but that free cessna 152 they gave out was very nice! Wink And much appreciated. I've never seen anyother payware company do that, not to say there hasn't been any.
I did grab some of the demos there, and I like what I got from that.
In general, I feel there is too much great freeware out there to bother spending money on this stuff, especially when you charge as much for a single plane that MS charged for the sim you need to use that plane.
If a payware company wants my $30-$50, you had better give me a hell of lot more than just one plane. Undecided
Bundel a super nice plane with some of that VFR scenery, or a very nice airport and then charge $25 for it and watch how many fly out your door then! Wink
That new section 8 Sabre should have ALL payware airplane makers shaking in thier boots right now.

Not trying to sound like a rant post here, just giving my constructive criticism view of payware. It was worth it for FS9 because it needed it in some  areas, but FSX is great already out of the box, and FS11 will probably be the death of payware.(expecting lots of heat for that last comment.)

I wouldn't go too far as too say that, but if MS keeps making radical changes with the SDK, it could take longer for developers to start producing addons. And if that's the case, freeware developers could even be slower to start making addons.

It's already discouraging how many true FSX addons there are when FSX has already been out for over two years Cry

wow time flies, and FSX addons arent 'abundant' thats for sure

thats sad, but i think a big part of it is the cycle - pirates, higher prices.

which really sucks. i cant believe the type of people that are into FSX would also be into pirating, its shocking.

and the prices are just too high now, its sucks, especially with the crappy economy, developers need to cut their prices in half, and it still would be expensive.

that and just the lack of general development for addons, but hey, we still got at least another 2 years to go on FSX, so lets wait and see, but next year is not promising a  whole lot with teh economy and all.

HIGHJACK OVER

but the video sucked anyways soo lol.

Sorry for how I worded my statement. I was refering to the quality, Shockwave lights aside, noone has even touched that in quality yet! Wink

Fly the section 8 Sabre, then fly alphasims Sabre, and you tell me,would you give $30-$50 for a single plane when the same quality is available for free? Also, look at PT's stuff, top notch there.
My remark about FS11 and payware reflected on the out of box quality for needing addons to make it look better.
FS9 needed payware to get it looking perfect.
FSX only needs it if you are very particular about your flying enviroment, I can fly VFR in the stock world and still find my little town with no problems.
FS11 if they continue this jump in quality, could make enviroment enhancing addons un-needed altogther.
In my opinion payware aircraft are already obsolete. The freeware developers have caught up, and the economy has made the prices too expensive. And as I said, I paid $50usd for Each sim. I can't justify having to pay another $30-$50 for just one plane or airport when the sim needed to run them cost the same amount. The prices don't reflect what you are getting out of the deal.
I'm not trying to take away anything from what the payware people put into their products, I am sure they are excellent and worth money in some fashion. It's just that the people who couldn't afford to buy it have figured out how to make the same things for free and are giving it away now. It's time for a major revolutionary breakthrough in payware to get ahead of the curve again. Every plane out there has been made a hundred times over in both pay and free ware.
If you want my money, try to figure out how to make something fly up into space in FSX, NOONE has done that yet. Wink Or figure out how to see under the water so submarines and other such things could be utilized. It's time for something new. Not another Cessna or 737. Smiley

Except one. Its been done, but never to the extent some others have. And im baffled as to why. The payware one looks reasonable, but flies like a washing machine. The freeware one i havent botherd with tbh. Please please CLS or PMDG or Level D - DO US A TRISTAR!

CLS, i know its been mentioned, but nothing yet - if it looked as good as the 747 and flew anywhere near the real thing id be happy. Id pay for it as would many many others. PMDG and LEVEL D - if it was 95% as good as the 747, id buy it, as would many others.

Freeware guys, why its off the radar id love to know - what is it about the tristar that makes it unloved?
