Current Status Picture

This was shot during last night's flight from KBOS to CYYZ.  Still very much a work in progress, but fun to fly in none the less.  Wink

Not much "physical" pit work lately.  Busy with my ceramic artwork getting ready for an exhibition in Japan.  But getting some flying in.  And tweaking and adding some software.

I added a new piece of payware software to the simpit yesterday: ATC Live Chatter.  It is great for flying online when there is no one else around (like last night and tonight).  It allows you to insert the REAL ATC streaming feeds (from the net) into your comm 1 or comm 2 radio and then switch the channels as you desire between stuff like Clearance, Ground, Tower, Departure and so on for a given airport / location.  If you can find the "feed" you want on the net....... you can have it on your radios.

You can find it here:  http://www.cielosim.com/liveatc.htm

Used it tonight....... slick as heck.  Makes you feel that you are not "alone" when flying online on a FSHost server.  And listening fto other aircraft comms gives you information about YOUR situation if you are running real world weather with updates.

Something I am going to try sometime is looking at a REAL flight, and then try to mimic the flight in the sim.  So I will research, say.... United 6565 from Boston to La Guardia.  I know the "off the blocks" time.  I'll be waiting at the same gate in the sim, listening to Clearance ....and will follow the exact ATC instructions.

Should be a "kick".   Smiley

best,

.....................john

PS:  Thanks there Masternerd.  Smiley

Funny, I was looking into this software, can it run on a networked PC? Im more interested in playing ATC chatter through different speakers.

Yes, it is currently running on the PC in my pit whose main function is to run the ND display.  It works under FSUIPC and WideFS.  There is an option button in "Settings" that you check off that tells it that it is working thru WideFS.

That machine also runs Teamspeak for online voice comms and Weetunes Beastie (Sky Blue Radio).....which feed into my headset.  So the ATC chatter comes to my headset along with Teamspeak voices.

best,

The Goflight ATC module.  Not perfect by ANY stretch of the imagination.... but it sort of works.  Expensive solution though.
