I know its for those on Dialup/DSL who don't want to spend all day waiting for shots to load, and I know its so we can curve our bandwidth, but seriously guys, compression has killed some of my nicest shots, or forced me to go lower than 800x600 (640x480 or less). Could we think about making it a 150kb per pic, insted of the current 100? It could open up a whole new world of high res shots.

Thanks again

Cheers
Cameron

Personally I don't have a problem with the 100 Kb limit. I've seen shots that are really amazing pieces of work. All within 100 Kb. So if Ramsa, Eno, Fly2E, Haroldkip, Lemoncat (remember him?) and all the others can do it, why can't you?

Cameron it would slow things down for dial-up users as it is the amount of data (e.g. the number of bytes the image is made up of) rather than the pixel size that takes time. So not really a good idea. Also the server has limited space...

Aye, compressing shots is an art within itself  Wink

All of these are under 100kb each and have no loss in quality.

I almost never lose any quality from the 100kb limit. Thus I have no problem with it.
