Syestem Developer Kit?  I think, something like that, I think it has to do with developing add-ons, or something or another. ???

Kevin, the SDK can be found on disk 1. All you have to do is go to "my computer", right click on the DVD drive icon and click "explore". There is a folder called SDK, in it is an installer that will install the SDK.

I don't know what you can do with it yet, I haven't really had time to look it over. I'm not a developer anyway. Wink

Warning - *AT THIS TIME* other than panels and gauges, to create actual real FS-X objects (i.e., airyplanes, animated scenery, etc), you need 3DSMAx 7/8.  Although gmax comes with the SDK, the FSMDLexp.dll with it is the same FS9.

gmax scripts will be available later (basically, discreet didn't allow Microsoft to change the gmax scripts until too late for release.)

Since *I* view the SDKs from the aircraft modelling aspect, I forget that there's other goodies involved.

From the SDK Overview:

This document provides a brief overview of all the components of the Microsoft ® Flight Simulator X SDK, and provides links to all the detailed documentation for each component. Unless the default installation directory is changed, the SDK installs to:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\

The SDK is divided into four main areas:

Core Utilities Kit: This covers the new SimConnect SDK - the programmers interface to Flight Simulator, Camera Configuration, and also tables of variables that can be used by client applications written for SimConnect, and other components of the overall SDK.

Environment Kit: This covers terrain, scenery, modeling, aircraft and boat traffic, and special effects.

Mission Creation Kit: This is new to Flight Simulator, and covers the creation of missions (directed challenges and adventures).

SimObject Creation Kit: This covers the creation of aircraft, panels and gauges, and also all the other simulation objects that can appear (ground vehicles, boats, animals, trains, and so on).

Hope this helps
