Firstly, always load the game in the lowest detail settings and position the plane in the prefered location

...

and then change the detail settings to the settings optimal for your PC

...

then simply capture the image (i prefer print screen method) and post your entry, if it is a competition entry, or just a random picture you want to show off

enjoy!

always try and get the most out of your settings, for maximum reality (if you can) Fs-GS is good for this, although takes time to prepare, so i didnt use it in these shots

FS-GS?  Are you sure you are talking about FS-FS and not something else?  Cause if you did get the FS-GS service, I hope you didnt change your settings.

Just maxing out all your settings is NOT the best way to get quality.  If your computer cant handle max, then it cant handle it and you wont get very good screenshots.  I NEVER take screenshots with settings maxed out.  Try to find what settings work best for YOUR computer, thats part of what FS-GS teaches you.  One major setting to learn is to lock your framerates.  Depending on your machine, you have to lock framerates to get good quality.  For instance, mine are locked at 33, and this allows my computer to produce better graphics and thus better screenshots.

JakeMaster's right.
There's no point in maxing out your sim, otherwise your rig is spending all its time trying to reach 'targets' set it so something that it can handle, and your quality will improve alot.
My FPS are set to 35, even though my sim could reach 50, so that is can 'concentrate' on other things.
LOL...

Cheers,
Alex

I never change any settings for screenshots...

...and I kept my FPS locked at 25, even though it'd go 75-80 without any problem. Honestly, it's Flight Sim, not DOOM...you don't need that many frames to stay alive Roll Eyes

maxing out is not a bad thing, the idea is set a low framerate.

also distance shouldn't be more tha 50nm, it blurrs together to the eye after that.

set cloud percentage to around 70-80 3D% realism and coverage. thats optimal if you gonna start cranking up scenery & plane settings.

AND AND AND!! if your card supports anti-ailiasing on it's own, use that, and disable FS anti-ailiasing. if not, the two conflict, and the card lets FS decide how to AA the game. especially true with ATI cards.

Yes, it is, but if you had and paid for it then you wasted your money by doing what you showed in your screenshots

I dont get the point of putting your graphics all the way down, then setting them back up, just a waste of time. Also you need some bi-liniar filtering and some Anti-Ailiasing in your shot  Wink

FS-GS isnt software.  I think you might be thinking of FS Autostart.  FS-GS is a service, you are walked through some changes to configuration files and you get your system and sim calibrated.  Its something I would like to do, but I dont have the money.

Okay, dont do what you are showing us to do.  IF your computer cant perform at maximum settings, you arent going to get a quality screenshot at maximum settings.  Your settings have to be set for YOUR computer, the best they can be for it.  I have something to show everyone......
