It seems to me that even in most of the FS tricycle gear aircraft I cannot see over the panel directly ahead.  I don't believe this is true in real life.  I can pan my view to see ahead but have to constantly readjust it after switching views which I do quite often.  Is there a permanent adjustment anywhere to change the view over the panel???

Thanks,

Jim

I believe for that, you use Ctrl or Shift + the + or - key to look over. Or press W to completely remove the panel..

I haven't played FS98 in ages, so if thats total nonsense, excuse me.. Wink

Yep, the controls in FS98 and FS2004 are the same.

I think while in 2D panel view you can press "Shift + Enter" to make the view pan down so you can see the runway. Once you get in the air you can just press 8 on the keypad to return the view to normal.

Also it could be due how big the view window is in the panel. Sometimes it takes up only the windshield which gives good visibility but sometimes it takes up the whole screen. I hope you know what I mean.

When taking off in a tail-dragger once I line up with the runway I like to use the directinal gyro to keep the plane straight.

Keep FS98 alive - forever!
