That sounds about right, however, we have to tend with the rip off factor here in Europe. Lets take a middle figure and say  $55 for FSX. This is about 45 Euros. This would make FSX far too cheap for us, so we would be paying about 55 Euros, which is about $66. Even FS2004 get the treatment. Amazon US sells FS9 for $29.99 or 24 Euros. Amazon Germany sells FS9 for 39.99 Euros or $48. I have also seen FS9 for 50 Euros or $60. Even Fs2002 is still top dollar here, I bet in the US it is at the bottom of the bargin  bucket Cry Roll Eyes

The DVD player is already becoming a stock item for most computers. My computer came with a stock DVD drive that can play and burn both CDs and DVDs. I remember back in my young years [when I first used a computer] that USB ports were a rarity for computers. Now, we use them for almost anything. You can even power an iron with the USB port.

Anyways, I say [with hands down] that the price will be about $70. As Essel had said, we will buy the sim regardless of the price. It's what we simers do. Grin

Well it would probably be between the $50 and $60 in the U.S.  and considering that europe is much, much more xpensive than the U.S. , especially here in the South of France... so i reckon it'll be around the same amount in Euros, between the 50 and 60  Wink

To be fair, they've given all of us enough time to save up for it by the looks of things, even if it does cost $100 or £49.99 or whatever.

The price will be whatever the marketing men will decide the market will bear .... not out here in Oz of course, if Strile Fighters Gold and BoB 2 retailing at A$89.95 Shocked is any indication!!!!
However, as this particular Wombat has no intention of being a beta tester for MS (one should never buy v.1 of ANYTHING!) the price will probably have come down in a year or so along with the usual patch or two. Grin

Unfortunately FS2004 is about WAY more than the video card.

or go to a Market pro convention and get it for half the price of whatever it is when it gets released!

I remember getting FS9 for about 25 bucks at a convention. It was suppose to be $49.99!

It's a fight between UK and Italy over the title of who was more ripped off then.

How could I ever forget the price of FS9 when it was released, everywhere you went it was nailed down to €99.90 (which is a smartass way to make you pay 100 hoping you don't realize you're paying 100). Undecided

Haha, here in Australia a NEW, top quality game often retails for $99.99+ !!! .

I'm pretty sure you can expect a relatively predictable price.

There are two schools of thought for pricing something like a flightsim-- or just about anything of similar construction: at what price the market will bear and at what price that generates the best response.  Porno is priced much higher than it costs to produce it because people will buy it. "As seen on TV" stuff is priced for the best response (while still turning a handsome profit) because the producer wants to sell an s-pot full of them while the interest is high, before the next greatest thing ever to hit the market hits the market. I will risk it all and say that M-soft will price at what the market will bear because the next iteration of the sim won't be out for a few years and we are all waiting with crumpled-up $20s in our sweaty little hands, ready to rush the ramparts as soon as FSXXVII hits the shelves.

DVD has storage capacity of approx 4.7Gb versus 700Mb on a CD; ergo, FSX will come on one DVD versus 5, 6 or 7 CDs.

Many of us, when FS9 first came out, are fed up with having to swap four different discs just for installation. And those who got fed up demanded the use of DVDs instead of regular and obsolete CDs.

I expect FSX will cost close to $200 when it is released here in Australia.

FS9 was around $160 when I first saw it.

I think I paid $120 for FS9.
